On clear days, guests can head outside to enjoy the country house's outdoor fireplace. I don't normally give 10's, because then how do you rate those places that are truly exceptional. Posada de las Vinas is the epitome of exceptional. Gustavo and Alicia are warm and gracious hosts. The other staff are just as nice. The rooms are spacious and comfortable. The atmosphere is tranquil and relaxed. The food and the wine... oh my God!! We shared New Year's Eve with Gustavo and Alicia, their family and friends, and the other guests. Dinner was three hours, featuring the Argentinian epitome of BBQ - the Asado, and excellent wine from the vines growing only a few meters away. Liz and I speak very little Spanish, but we really felt like part of the family - pool time, walking with the dogs through the vineyard, reading on the balcony. It's not fancy, but if you want good down-home comfort this is the place to be.

On our night the (single, fixed-price, all-included) menu was delicious tomato soup with local cheese (extra servings offered and eagerly eaten), large tender beefsteaks, flavorful roast vegetables (from that farm), choice of desserts (we ate fruit compote with nuts), excellent regional wine. Everything was great, the hosts were great, food was amazing, fresh juice and water on arrival. The location is a bit off the beaten trail but we enjoyed that sort of atmosphere.

Each unit comes with a private bathroom with a bidet. At the bed and breakfast, units have bed linen and towels. We loved our stay at Terra Casa de Campa. Although it is a little way out of town, the drive was well worth it for the location and space. The Casa is beautiful, the beds are very comfortable (I slept better here than anywhere in Argentina to the sounds of the creek running past our window), and the breakfast is one of the best we've had in Argentina as well. Guillermo and his family are so lovely and welcoming. It was truly a delight! We would definitely stay here again if visiting Cachi. I loved that there is no WiFi in the house. A local sim is able to connect to the network in some parts of the Casa, but my eSim was not able (just something to note if this matters to you!).
