The room was very clean, the beds were very comfortable and the room stocked with snacks and beverages. The location is on the edge of town-very quiet but still not far of a walk even with kids to a good restaurant. The breakfast was fresh and tasty. This was one of our favorite stays in England! The kids loved it here.

The hotel dates back to 1825 and is set in 262 acres of spectacular countryside. It boasts its own 18-hole championship golf course, full health club, spa with pool and AA rosette dining. The historic hotel was situated in a picturesque setting, overlooking the mountains. The rooms were comfortable and adequately furnished. While we didn't choose to use the spa and swimming pool, many others took advantage of that feature.

Clean and modern hotel. Beautiful surroundings. Quiet and peaceful for a good night's sleep.
Everything! Comfortable and quiet room, speedy and helpful communication with Maggi. Location very convenient in leafy neighbourhood so close to the countryside. We had a very warm welcome from the couple, indeed felt very much at home, and enjoyed chatting with Maggi whilst enjoying her perfectly poached eggs :) Thank you again!
We loved the premises, friendly staff, the beautiful village, countryside and setting. The bedrooms were very comfortable and relaxing, quiet and peaceful. It was lovely to be able to hear the birds singing in the morning.
Gorgeous shepherds hut in a perfect, quiet location. Close enough to all the local towns and pubs whilst still being far enough out that it’s peaceful with great views of the countryside. The dogs were welcomed as much as we were. Very comfortable and cosy.
The cottage was cosy and quiet, in the most peaceful location, whilst still being close to places like Bakewell and Chatsworth House. There were loads of good walks around the local countryside, perfect for anyone with dogs. The cottage was so comfortable, and the log burner really made it feel like home. We were there in the recent snow and it was like staying in a Christmas card! Absolutely loved our stay and couldn't fault the cottage at all.
Fantastic cottage with a beautiful view. Set outside the local towns in the picturesque countryside. Very quiet and peaceful. Walking routes all nearby..Helpful owner. Everything 1 or 2 people could need. We would stay again.
Comfortable room with a great hot shower. I slept like a log. Quiet and peaceful . Just what I needed. The cooked breakfast set me up for a days hiking perfectly.
Beautiful location. Quiet and peaceful. Picturesque countryside. Comfortable and cosy cottage with an log fire . Fantastic walks . 100% recommended to everyone
The room was clean and comfortable. Quiet and peaceful location, convenient for the countryside and town, a few minutes walk from the railway station with good connections to Sheffield and Manchester. There was a good range of food available at breakfast. The home- made porridge was a particular highlight.
