Short drive into the city. This has honestly been the best place we've stayed on our entire trip of the island

Guesthouse Basar is charming and cozy, perfect for exploring Grimsey! The room was tidily nestled under the eaves. Breakfast each morning filled me up for the day, and I really appreciated the ample hot beverage supplies available in the kitchen when I returned from hiking around the island. I was the only guest during my stay, it was a very peaceful trip.

This was my second time staying here. Good staff, great kitchen facilities, good space for hang out and right in the centrum. Quiet and free coffee. If you have a problem you can phone the staff 24/7

Checkin and communications were very well organised. Having guest access to a washing machine and dryer was invaluable, especially as we were travelling the Ring Road. The rooms were spacious and well equipped. Despite being close to the road, it was very quiet.

nice and comfortable beds. clean room and sheets. very warm and enough space to put our stuff. free hot tub and sauna outside and towels are provided. breakfast was okayish - can be better. no info for the dinner so we skipped that. location is nice, there is an easy trekking route just across the road and a pizza place just 10 mins walk.

Guesthouse located in a small fishing village 20 min off the Ring Road. Very quiet place, perfect to enjoy a peaceful stay. The room and bathroom had a good size and was very clean. Shared kitchen well equiped and well looked after. Several hiking trails in the area. The town has a gas station, supermarket, 2-3 restaurants and the Museum of Prophecies (which I recommend). The communication with the host was excellent.

Good bed, pretty dining room in the upper building (the one for double and twin rooms), and of course the hot tub. A quiet place, it was a peaceful stay. The lady owner seemed really friendly and accommodating and didn't seem to mind that I hung out in the dining area after check out. Thanks!
