Non slip mats provided for both the showers and the bath. Bedroom spacious, and quiet. Excellent location close to city centre and the railway station. Good that we had the option of using a the full dining room or getting smaller snacks in the bar. It had an elevator suitable for wheel chairs. We made good use of the free wifi. It’s a lovely building. We used disabled parking and noticed there was a designated entrance for disabled guests, if required. We were offered help with our luggage. All the staff were lovely and helpful. The breakfast was amazing. Loads of choice. Best we have seen in a long time. (Would suggest a napkin is provided to hold fresh uncut bread for slicing)

The quality of the items were so high it was clear that the hotel owners have put an incredible amount of effort in providing a top range bed and amazing mattress - clearly very expensive, designer furnititure, curtains and decor - all in all very impressive - certainly not run of the mill. Breakfast were also very friendly.

Authenticity and style in the design We had booked to go to Essexfest which we discovered when we arrived, had been cancelled! We chose to spend the evening having a meal in the pub instead, which was delightful! Ended up talking to another couple and had a really enjoyable evening. This was enhanced by the fact we only had a few steps to our lovely clean comfortable room
