The Black Swan has been providing travellers with a warm welcome and famous hospitality for centuries.
Once the main stop off for weary travellers on a stagecoach route linking Leeds to York, The Black Swan dates back to the 15th century. With an Elizabethan building on one end, a Tudor one to the other and a Georgian House in the middle, the Black Swan is wonderfully higgledy-piggledy, with bags of character.

The cottage contains an extremely nice dining area with an accessible kitchen. The location was perfect; close to everything just a 3 mile drive to Helmsley but so peaceful for sleeping. The hosts Kim and Mike were great, very friendly and helpful. Cake on arrival was a nice touch and very much appreciated. Lovely attentive people and nice choice of breakfast options at a time you choose. The house is stunning, we even saw a Tawny Owl whilst eating breakfast.

Variety of teas/coffee to chose from with biscuits and bars of chocolate to snack on. We were also given a flask with cold milk in when we checked in at reception - a nice touch. There were designer toiletries in the bathroom which were lovely to sample ( H2K Harrogate). We enjoyed both dinner & breakfast.
