Lovely host, superb spot: quiet street and yet less than 5 minutes walk (steep footpath) to city center. Nice view over the harbour and a private parking place. Although 'only' a continental breakfast was supplied, it was exceptionally extensive and plentiful! On top of the usual toast/jam/cereals there were lots of fresh raspberries, blackberries and strawberries, four types of sliced meat and slices of cheese, different pastries and bars-to-go, etc. When we had to leave very early, the host prepared the evening before a basket so we could have breakfast anyway.

We stayed 2 nights here at the Hawthornbank in Oban and our host Ian was great. The guest house is sparkling clean as are the rooms. And the breakfast in the morning was brilliant too. Parking is available right at the hotel. Highly recommended.

We had a most fabulous stay at Aspen Lodge in Oban with spectacular mountain scenery from our balcony. Carol was a most wonderful host whom my son had a wonderful time chatting with her about whisky as she used to work in Oban Distillery. She gave him a lot of tips about whisky and also talked about her family who were also in the whisky business. There are 2 ways of getting to Aspen Lodge - one via the rolling hills with animals and highland cows roaming freely and the other route was via a golf club., Our GPS took us via the rolling hills route and at one stage we seemed to getting away farther and farther so panicked and turned back. Luckily, we met a lady along the way who came across Aspen Lodge signage and told us to go back the way we went and assured us it was the right track. Once we reached Aspen Lodge, our breath was taken away by the magnificent room decor and gorgeous mountain scenery. We had a balcony and it was so relaxing to sit outside and admire and enjoy the scenery. My son even did his stretching exercises on the balcony. One morning, we had breakfast on the terrace just to soak in the view. The decor is very classy and tastefully furnished with an amazing bathroom. Loved Carol's speedy response to our queries on many things even before we arrived and she is so knowledgeable and able to make suggestions and recommendations. She sure knows how to look after her guests well and make them feel at home. Her awesome hospitality is second to none. We left behind a bag of clothes and Carol quickly messaged us and luckily, we were still in Oban, so went back to collect.

Beautiful room with a nice sea view! Clean and confortable room. I had the pleasure to meet the owner Marc who came to rescue in our moment of crisis (I lost my car keys...). With his help we were able to continue our journey on time, so THANK YOU again!!

Everything was EXCELLENT!! Lovely room with en-suite and wee bay window to sit in and enjoy the AMAZING VIEW of the beautiful harbour! Ferries coming and going constantly. Fantastic location looking right down on the Oban Distillery. The HUGE flight of stairs to get from the seaside street up to the Guest House street was certainly a way to burn off the chowder/haggis/beers (all food experiences GREAT here), but beautiful views and benches at landings to catch your breath and enjoy. Oban and the Invercloy was our fave Scotland stop!

The ladies at the reception were very welcoming, informative and proactive in their approach and made us feel at home. The property is well maintained, very clean and comfortable. The decadence of the decor gave us the feel that someone with passion owned the property. The view from the front is absolutely beautiful. The overall experience was very good.
