A tranquil retreat perched on hills, Heritance Kandalama offers panoramic views of the Sigiriya Rocks. Boasting a spectacular architecture, this unique design hotel provides 3 impressive pools and exotic activities like bird watching.

Finally it’s iconic place designed by Jeffrey Bawa - well known Sri Lankan architect in late 1960s. So it’s not an hotel but real attraction point with feel of the history. You may see monkeys on your balcony who can stole any eat from it - giving a lot of fun and nice pictures. The amenities are also beautiful and nice. Staff trying to give you the best experience.

Everything. A beautiful room on the floor with a pool view and palms around. Furniture in front of the room on the balcony for a nice relaxation. Big, clean pool. Great restaurant with delicious food, good prices. A beautifully designed hotel with a lot of plants around. Wonderful owners and staff. They are extremely kind, well organised, hard-working people making sure everything is perfect. They also organise different activities. It far exceeded my expectatios.

Very very nicely designed cottages, lovely pool, lots of animals like monkeys and peacocks around to watch. Staff was extremely(!) nice and helpful, there are also free bicycles to use (the way to sigiriya rock is quite short, you will not need a motorized transport if you plan to go during daylight). Be sure to check out the owners brothers restaurant (sth restaurant) which is in walking distance to the cottage and will serve one of the best vegetable rice and curry there is. Strongly recommend a stay here.

Believe all of the positive reviews. Atha is a lovely, family run boutique hotel that offers exceptional value and a perfect base for exploring the area. Tharusha and his family provide the warmest of welcomes and everything feels very personal - from the airport pick-up to the expert advice on what to see and do. The service and hospitality are truly exceptional. The design of the hotel is lovely, the food is great (the full Sri Lankan feast is a must), and every aspect of our 5 day stay was an absolute pleasure.

The best hostel I had stayed at during my 6 weeks in Sri Lanka. Roy is an amazing host, and provides the best experiences for your stay. The dorms are super great design and experience. The food is amazing also. You have not done Sri Lanka unless you have stayed here.
