Built in 1778, this historic inn, decorated in a European-style, features uniquely decorated rooms. Free Wi-Fi is available. Old City Market is 650 metres away and the College of Charleston is 150 metres from the inn.

Check in and staff excellent. Waffles at breakfast are to die for. Wish I could get them in Canada, Since I was in the small double room on the third floor, I expected a small room but it was spacious with windows on two sides making it very light. Recommend for one person looking for quality accommodation at a fair price in expensive Charleston yet still in easy walking distance to the waterfront and all the best restaurants and sights. Recommended.

Great location in the heart of Charleston. Beautiful facility. Gets its name from the renovation of several older buildings. Wine and cheese every night in the lounge area. Rooms are spacious, well appointed with small kitchenette and complimentary sodas and sparkling water, cheese and crackers in the refrig. We've stayed here before and will stay here again. Highly recommend

The room was beautiful & larger than expected. The bathroom, though beautiful, needs some shelving to accommodate toiletries. The bedding was extremely comfortable! The independent temperature control is always a huge plus! Location was perfect & we enjoyed walking everywhere! The food was amazing! Our cocktails were perfect & the bartender was friendly & gracious! The rooftop gave us beautiful views of Charleston while sipping an amazing Bloody Mary!

Set in the heart of Charleston across from Marion Square, this historic hotel features a full-service spa and an on-site restaurant serving classic Southern cuisine. The French Quarter is 1 km away. Free WiFi is provided.

Our room faced the port, was a good size with comfy bed and suitable furniture. The bathroom was small as other reviews mentioned but it was acceptable for the 2 of us. The hotel is in an historic building and the lobby has maintained its character and beauty. The room was renovated some time ago but we still loved its ambience. Paid parking, which was located in an attached city parkade, was a bit confusing at first but it all worked out in the end. The Francis Marion Hotel is centrally located with easy access to downtown sights as well as to the port. We certainly loved our tour of the USS Yorkton. We went to the Swamp Fox restaurant twice and enjoyed both of our meals there. The Francis Marion Hotel is great value for a stay in Charleston. We would definitely stay there again.

The treasure of the Hotel is definitely Angelique, she represents southern hospitality with charm and warmth. She is such a great communicator and facilitator. I felt welcomed and she could answer my questions with ease, kindness and tact. She would make a great Manager of any Team. I also enjoyed my room which is a step up in comfort, cleanliness and design from any other facility I have visited on my trip from Canada. Thank you, will definitely be back and will refer.

Gorgeous property with period features. Really felt we were in a film set. The breakfast also very tasty and freshly served. Great staff and had lots of great chat in the mornings. The room was simply stunning (we had room 5) - spacious, clean and so pretty. Perfect location for downtown exploring, and easy to get out to the beaches if you have a car.
