Xanthippi Hotel 2 stars

Souvala

Just 50 metres from the beach of Loutra in Aegina, Xanthippi offers units with a furnished balcony overlooking the Argosaronic Gulf. The hotel features free Wi-Fi and a cocktail bar.

The air-conditioned rooms at the Hotel Xanthippi are furnished with earthy colours and wooden details. Each includes a kitchenette with a fridge and electric kettle for the preparation of breakfast and salads. An LCD TV and a fan are standard. We were there with our little daughter (11 months) for 11 days. Every member of staff was incredibly nice. In our opinion, the breakfast and the modernity of the rooms are at least equivalent to a 4-star hotel. The view and the garden design are breathtakingly beautiful. The ferry harbour, the small beach, a supermarket and restaurants can be reached on foot in under 5 minutes. If we travel to Aegina again, we would always stay at this hotel.

Aethrio Guesthouse

Souvala

Rooms and apartments at Aithrio are uniquely decorated in bright colours and come with a TV, air conditioning and en-suite bathroom with hairdryer and free toiletries. Some units include a kitchenette, while they all have a mini fridge and electric kettle. The property was very beautiful and clean with AC that worked great! The staff here were amazing. The man working speaks English very well, but the woman does not so we used google translate quite a bit. But they were both so kind! They called taxis for us (because most people on the island do not understand much English - especially the taxis) and the breakfast was so so good! This place is a true hidden gem here.

Vagia Traditional 3 stars

Vagia

The traditional, family run Hotel Vagia is built in Aeginian Architecture with respect to the surrounding environment, just 150 metres from the beach of Vagia.

All rooms are fitted with stone-paved floors and built-in beds. They open to private balconies overlooking the Saronic Gulf, pine forests and the Ancient Temple of Aphaia which is a 30 minute hike away. Each includes air conditioning, a TV, a mini bar and free WiFi. We like the place, the garden and the atmosphere. The place has beautiful rooms with views to the sea or to the temple Aphaia. It's quite and full of green and flowers. We were feeling like we were at home. Our host helped us to tips for local trips and island attractions. The stuff was very friendly and helpful. And the meals delicious. The breakfast is a must.
