At Mengi Countryside, you can enjoy mountain views from your room. Modern Nordic design and décor are featured throughout the property. Bathroom facilities are shared, and a guest lounge is also available. The breakfast was fantastic and I loved that it was in a large room with other travelers. It felt so welcoming and cozy. There are many shared showers and it was all very clean. I would highly recommend this place for anyone staying in that area. They also were very accommodating that we had to arrive late and make special arrangements.

Located within the famous Golden Circle sightseeing trail, Héradsskólinn Historic Guesthouse overlooks Lake Laugarvatn, Hekla Volcano and the Eyjafjallajökull Glacier. A bistro, café, bar and tour desk are found on site. WiFi is free. The staff was amazing. They were prompt, clear, and served with kindness. The building itself was interesting, with antiques everywhere. It was a fun place to stay.
