The views are fantastic. The owners are very friendly and chatty about their properties.

Great meals and (mostly) very friendly, helpful staff. We enjoyed it so much, we extended our stay by a day. It was fun having a pool table to while away a rainy day.

The luxurious Wine House Hotel in Lamego, in the heart of the Douro region, is surrounded by extensive private grounds with vineyards. This typical 18th-century house was restored, respecting its traditional architecture and original features. It blends modern design with historical ambiance. Beautiful wine barrels to stay in, excellent service. Was simply better than expected and our expectations were high to begin with. The food, quality, cleanliness of the property were all perfect and the level of detail in the service was amazing. The breakfast in our wine barrel was the cherry on top of an excellent stay!

Spacious rooms, meticulously and tastefully decorated with attention to the small things down to fresh oranges, yummy cookies and port in the room. Super comfy beds. Very welcoming and cozy. Dinner was superb and presented beautifully. Thanks to Cristiano who was always available to ensure our stay was perfect which truly was the highlight of a three week vacation in Portugal.

This is a ‘home-stay’ type premises with meals served in the family house. The family and staff were warm, welcoming and eager to help throughout and were ever-ready with ideas for restaurants and attractions in the surrounding area. We were free to roam in the family gardens and their vineyards, which have good views across the surrounding countryside. I'm giving this premises a rating of '10' because of the above. Don't expect 5 star luxury - do expect to be well catered for in a traditional Portuguese house, in a peaceful rural environment (only 10 minutes drive to the nearest small town).

Casa do Romezal is a typical Douro Valley house, surrounded by vineyards and providing stunning views over the surroundings. The rustic home was renovated and features a west-facing outdoor swimming pool. Everything was perfect. Bungalow is brand new with Incredible view down the valley. Check in and communication with Margarida was smooth and she was very friendly. Can recommend doing the wine tour, which was great and we learned a lot about port wine.
