Each accommodation is elegantly decorated and includes tea-and-coffee making facilities, a minibar, and a balcony with sea views. All rooms have a seating area with a sofa. Even in bad weather you can still relax with a view of the sea :) Comfortable beds, excellent breakfast. Parking at the hotel. The location is also good for trips to nearby levadas by car. We also ordered a massage (standard quality) and ate at a Japanese restaurant (longer wait, but good food). Wifi without problems.

All Proteas’ rooms are heated and have a private bathroom. Some rooms have a kitchenette and sea views, while others have wooden sloped ceilings. The host was very generous and kind, one evening she treated us with Madeira wine and cake. The lounge (breakfast/dinner space) was very cozy; The room had a very rare find in Madeira - a heater, so we were able to dry our clothes etc. This wasn't the case in other hotels ( 5 of them) we booked in Madeira.

This restored Madeiran mansion is located 900 metres from Funchal's Old Town and has scenic views of the sea, the city and the mountains from its own botanical gardens and terraces. Free WiFi and free covered private parking are available. Staff were fantastic, really helpful and friendly. Room spacious, lots of space for clothes etc. Aircon really excellent. Wifi the fastest I have ever encountered. Big delicious breakfasts.

The rooms’ balconies offer views of the scenic gardens or the Atlantic Ocean. All rooms are equipped with telephone, mini-bar, safe, cable TV and a hair dryer. Breakfast was delicious, some components are different every day, there are tables on open air and inside, great view to the garden. Our building in the center of garden was very interesting, in old style, with many specific details on the walls, near the stairs... Beds are perfect, from open window you see the sea and listen the birds... There is see water in swimming pool, very comfortable and clean.. We asked for rent a car and the men from reception solved the problem during 5 min. Great!

We also used the sauna and the jacuzzi and enjoyed the infinitypool.
