What an absolutely delightful place to call home for a few days! We were looking for a restful spot on a quiet beach after our safari and this was it. The building itself is fascinating….lots of history within, unique and quirky and has everything you need and more. Our rooms were comfy and clean and the balcony in each room overlooking the beach was great. Massi and Miria are the perfect host…there when you need them with answers to all your questions. All staff were so kind and friendly…restaurant staff with whom we interacted the most were the best. The daily breakfast had a perfect selection of continental and hot options. And a juice with fruit and avocado that I wish I could have bottled and brought back home. We ate all three dinners there and they were out of this world (I’m running out of superlatives to describe our stay!). With Massi’s obvious influence they were all traditional Italian. Four amazing courses each night and only $20 USD per person. Worth so much more. I wholeheartedly recommend Zanzibar House as a perfect place to stay for a beach break. Suggest taking the taxi service offered on their site as we chose not to and our cab driver had difficulty locating it. With the help of a kind local on a motorbike however, we did. Mamamapambo Boutique Hotel is situated in the seaside village of Jambiani on the southeast coast of Zanzibar island. The hotel is built directly on the beach and is surrounded by lush vegetation.

Each room is decorated in an ethnic style and has a large 4-poster bed draped in mosquito nets and has a patio. The spacious bathroom includes a large shower. It is just a really nice hotel, very good food, good location and nice staff that are willing to help at all times!

Most of the rooms feature a balcony with sea or pool views. Great location, close to the main part of Stone Town but in a quiet spot. Staff were lovely and accommodating and connected me to a great local tour guide company. Loved spending time on the vine covered terrace on the beach just reading my book. Two nice pools. I stayed in a newly renovated city view room on the street side of the hotel which was huge and very comfortable. Loved my few days staying here.

The pool is lovely and much appreciated when the tide is way out. It’s also right on the beach so you can wake up and watch the sunrise from your window.
