Everything went well. Anything you needed was very close
Jasper sits in a green valley within a national park surrounded by the majestic Canadian Rockies. Water in its various forms has shaped the dramatic scenery and continues to create serene landscapes.
Tree-lined Lake Beauvert is the closest to town, but Pyramid and Patricia lakes are more famous thanks to the rugged peaks perfectly reflected in their still waters. Arguably the best of all is Maligne Lake whose incredible water colour is eclipsed by small, pine-lined Spirit Island. You may not know the name, but you’ll probably recognise the view.
Many glaciers come off the huge Columbia Icefield, roughly midway between Jasper and Lake Louise. Some have cut canyons where you can go ice walking. Other winter sports include ice skating and skiing at the Marmot Basin resort, named after local animals.
Bears inhabit the surrounding forests and more wildlife lives at The Den at Whistler Inn, just one Jasper accommodation option on Booking.com alongside mountain lodges and pet-friendly hotels with pools.
The Jasper Tramway – Canada’s highest cable car – goes to the top of The Whistlers mountain, and on the slopes of another are the Miette Hot Springs open-air pool. The Jasper-Yellowhead Museum details the area’s history, and traditional Haida styles and colours are celebrated in the modern Two Brothers Totem Pole
I love Jasper. The mountains views are awe inspiring.
I love Jasper. The mountains views are awe inspiring. As many times as I see them, the mountains continue to amaze me. Jasper still has the local small town feeling that other mountain towns have lost over the years. Many businesses are run by the owners rather than franchises.

Unfortunately the ski season was a bit down this year.
Unfortunately the ski season was a bit down this year. After really cold temps the week before we arrive, they experience warmer than average temps when we were their and snow quality was not real good. We still made the most of our visit by enjoying this winter wonderland and the sites that Jasper provides

To put the review in context, we were only in Jasper for a couple of days prior to the Winter Season to catch The Canadian to Toronto. This meant many of the major sites were not yet available to access. However, while there, what we discovered was a lovely small town that is the focal point for travelling to the beautiful areas in the vicinity. The people are very friendly and helpful and there are also plenty of excellent places to eat and drink.
It is worth the visit.

It's easy to get around Jasper.
It's easy to get around Jasper. They have just recently provided long-term parking, which works for those driving their own vehicle to get on and return from the Jasper to Prince Rupert Via Rail train run (Sept. 2023). We picked up Starbucks drinks, ordered food from a variety of restaurants that were yummy. Gluten Free/Dairy Free options are available at a few restaurants; no desserts though, as per usual restaurant fare.

We visited Angel Glacier.
We visited Angel Glacier. Wouldn't have missed that for anything. Malign Lake and the boat trip to Spirit Island was memorable. Glad we didn't miss that. We were there 2 days. 3 would have been better.

The mountains and lakes in Jasper are amazing!
The mountains and lakes in Jasper are amazing!
the colour of the water is so inviting, I wish it was warmer when we went so we could swim.
We ate at birch and jasper pizza place which were both pretty good.
Jasper is pretty small so once you are in the town you can easily walk around the entire downtown area.
be aware, sometimes it can be very smoky due to forest fires which greatly hurts the views of the mountains.
The room was large and clean. The bed and wifi were both good. It was a twin queen room and included a tiny kitchenette. The hotel was slightly out from the centre of the action but still within walking distance and quiet.. There’s lots to do In the areas surrounding Jasper. One day we went to the Columbia Icefields. What a marvellous experience even though it’s over an hour away. The hotel has free parking including a limited underground carpark. But overall, a very good stay.
The beds are amazing! We went in Jasper to do a lot of hiking (as most people I guess) and we were able to sleep peacefully in the room. The A/C is working well - which is important in summer and this year especially with the heatwave. Also, they do have a swimming pool and hot tub. We were very surprised that we were the only people to use them (whereas the hotel has lots of rooms). Location is great as well. 5-10 minutes walk from all bars/restaurants/shops/etc.
Loved the property! Pet friendly but the cabins have carpet 😳 we were assigned a cabin by the road. Had I known, would have asked to specifically book one behind the office/restaurant. Due to covid, hot springs were closed! Yay! Not droves of traffic and people. Wild life in the area. Beautiful country. The amenities and authentic Greek cuisine was a huge diamond in the rough. Pleasant experience. Hospitality was top notch! Thank you!
The cabins were so cozy and comfortable- walking through the door is like stepping into a Rocky Mountain fairytale. The amenities were perfect for a couple (or family), providing everything we needed for a 3 day stay while visiting Jasper National Park. Kitchenette was ideal for preparing meals, shower & bed were new and clean. The decorations made it feel like a home. 10/10 will stay here again!
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Overlander Mountain Lodge! The staff is fantastic - so friendly and helpful. The room was clean and comfortable, with great mountain views off of the balcony. We enjoyed the on-site restaurant & nearby brewery as well! Convenient to Jasper & the national park, but without being in the middle of the action. Highly recommend!
The beds were very comfortable, the rooms a good size and we especially liked the fact that it was a pet friendly hotel as we just bought a puppy over Christmas. The pool and hot tub were great and the front lobby very cozy. The trails in the back of the hotel were great for walks with the dog and kids.
The Hotel is an older design with walk up second floor, the rooms have been updated and the washrooms are very nicely
finished. The location is a quick 7 min walk to the downtown of Jasper and buildings are kept clean. Parking is first come first served on the property and gets full later in the day.
Nice place to stay to explore the Rockies around Jasper; The town center is 10 away by foot. Although located by the road, it was not noisy at all. The room was big and had everything we needed. There is a small hot tub at the hotel which is usually very crowded in the summer.
The hotel is old but well maintained, very clean and nicely appointed. Excellent location. Staff were friendly and very helpful. Staying in Jasper is expensive but I felt this was really good value compared to other places I have stayed. My room had a great view.
The room was great and can’t beat the location. Compared to other hotels farther from the centre of Jasper it was expensive, but worth the short walk to the action and the room was much nicer and bigger than other locations I’ve stayed.
The room was quite small overall, the sink was right next to our bed and not in the washroom. Overall location of the hotel is great, right on the Jasper strip with all the restaurants. Bed was okay. Find the room kinda dim though.
The room was very clean and comfortable. It had a gas fireplace and an incredible view looking out into Jasper National Park. The staff were very friendly and the restaurant had amazing food, cocktails and a large wine selection.
Great location and beautiful decorations! definitely stay there next time that visiting Jasper national park. please note that these cabins are about 30 minutes away from Jasper town.
The hotel is located in the centre of Jasper. Walking distance to restaurants and supermarkets.
There is washing machine and dryer to do your own laundry and it is very cheap
Perfect location for a short stay in Jasper. The hotel is older and the decor is a little tired but we expected this and therefore we were not disappointed.
Loved the history and the visual history of this hotel. Staff were so nice and accommodating. This is the only hotel I will ever stay in when visiting Jasper
