Köveskál is small and silent village, but there are 2 excellent restaurants, pub, shop. I recommend restaurant Kovirag and Kali Art Inn. Köveskál is close to lake Balaton as well as other excursions around the area - for example Kötenger - you can see Sea of Stone or Tapolca town - you can see the cave in the middle of the city.

We spent 4 days there in June.

We spent 4 days there in June. We visited the new lavender field (wonderful!) and went ro Pipacs restaurant (I can recommend it). Unfortunately, this restaurant closes early (7 pm on weekdays and 8 pm on Sat) and to get a table in the others you have to book well in advance. We arrived in the evening and we had to drive to Révfülöp to find some pizza for dinner. Apart feom this, we had a great time there.

Surprisingly good quality food for great value for money.

Surprisingly good quality food for great value for money. We ate at Maiko almost every day (recommend the pike with truffle risotto) which had an amazing setting and even better service. Kovirag restaurant was another favourite. The village is very small so definitely worth walking up the hills and seeing the wineries. Closer to the centre of the village is Palffy Winery where you can get a decent bottle of local wine for a fiver. The village is quiet so great place to go if you're after some peace. Bars and restaurants not open past about 10pm
