Absolutely beautiful. It was a highlight of our trip to spend time there - the air is considerably cooler and cleaner than other parts of south India so it was a welcome reprieve for us. I would say anyone going to Kerala should make it a point to go into the ghat mountains. But getting around was not easy! The roads made us all very ill. Motion sickness pills are a must. And the hotels, and towns, and tea plantations are all spread out so every day you basically will have to get back in the car for torture again. We didn't see as much as we had hoped because we were too ill and we also had not factored in how far apart everything is. But we just loved the mountain air and lush scenery anyways.

Munnar is a very interesting area to visit with a family, lots of activities for families, very easy to move around with Tuk-Tuk or for a better comfort with an open Mahindra jeep.
walking around the tea plantation is breathtaking, we could also see the Elephants in a natural environment, mind blowing experience.
We spent five days in Munnar and it was perfect.

One needs to visit Munnar during non peak season as the roads become very congested and lot of time is wasted in travel alone.
A minimum three days stay is essential to cover Munnar properly.
It is better to stay on plains rather than in properties at height and access to the property through uneven clay roads.

This is my second trip to Munnar and I love the place for the absolute quiet. There is no sound except for the rustling of the tree tops in the breeze. Every where you go there are plants and flowers and coffee plants and tea plantations as far as the eye can see
Totally exceeded our expectations. The hotel gave us an upgraded room. Absolutely stunning and very comfortable and loved the view from the balcony. Luxurious feel to the hotel. Breakfast was amazing (rice, curry, fruit and bread). Staff was super friendly and attentive.
Hotel is located on the main road with busses going to up and down to/from Munnar / Kochi every 15 min. Next town with restaurants and ATM is at a mere 10 minute walk. Nice place to spend some time in nature with a fresh breeze and no chaos.
Amazing place to stay! The beds were the comfiest I’ve had during my travels, great power showers and a delicious breakfast in the morning. They also offer food to order in the evening which was yummy.
You need to take tuk tuks to most places but that is the case in most of Munnar. There is a nearby cinnamon spice garden walking distance which is super interesting. The hotel also helps organise daily treks for guests which was great fun. Very social in the downstairs area - highly recommend!

Robi was really friendly and helpful. I arranged my trek through him and had a great day. the room was big and the bed was really comfortable. you have use of the kitchen which has a kettle and free filtered water. the location in old Munnar is perfect with some nice trails from the accom you can easily walk alone to a couple of little temples and there are restaurants and cafes nearby. it’s also only a handy 5 min walk from the KSRTC bus stand.
The staff is extremely helpful. They will go out of the way to help you, arrange transportation for you.
The food is excellent, they make very good north indian food too, which is a saviour. Also they will arrange breakfast as per your suggestion. Honestly too good. Let me say the butter chicken is best in Kerala .
Rooms are very clean and big. The view from the rooms is good. I will recommend this hotel to everyone staying at Munnar.
It was a lovely stay - perfect from the beginning to the end.House is the perfect spot to relax in nature. very clean and nice room.We had a warm welcome although we arrived late. They supported us with everything ( booking kathakali show, information about munnar sightseeing).Ashik and his dad were amazing people who took care of all our needs. Excellent Ambience.Must visit this homestay.
It's run by a family who've been in the forces, so there is attention to every detail. The service beats any Taj hotel & the warmth is something that's hard to explain. Neat, clean to another level, serene & the food....... my god..... i'm still thinking about it. The only downside if you ask me is that this isn't Munnar, so if you're chasing the cold, you have to go further uphill.
Excellent hotel. The views from our balcony were amazing. The staff were very friendly and organised our tour of Munnar and tickets to the kalari kshethra and martial arts display and our onward travel by taxi. The room was very comfortable and had everything we needed. The food in the restaurant was very good and we enjoyed a decent breakfast.
The house is in Anachal, nearby Munnar on a beautiful property with a nice view. multiple fruit trees, Elaichi plants, etc. rooms and bathrooms were very clean and balcony was nice. they also had a small store to buy any snacks or small items we needed which was convenient. wonderful filling Keralan breakfast included every morning.
We loved this hotel, if you are staying in Munnar. Then this hotel is the place to stay! The hotel staff and manager treated us like we where family! From helping us get to our bus back to Kochi too friendly service during dinner. Also very clean and the wifi is very good! We will definitely be staying here again!
The room was neat and well maintained. The staff were extremely nice and extended warm hospitality. Though the hotel doesn't have a restaurant the restaurant adjacent to the hotel was really good. The hotel being located in the prime area (Aanachal) of Munnar is well connected with the major tourist attractions.
-nice balcony with a great view of the mountains
-close enough to Munnar town (need rickshaw, public bus, or taxi)
-good food / good room service
-staff was very helpful! specially Manoj, who guided me over the phone to get to the hotel using public buses from Kochi
Me and friends had a very comfortable stay. Ambience was good specially the rooftop. Hotel staff was so cooperative and active. Loved that warm welcome greeting with that beautiful hat. Special Thanks to the staff for their quick room service.
Our stay at the panoramic Gateway was amazing. Everyone was very friendly, the location has a very beautifull panorama! The room was big and clean... Everything was perfect! I recommend this hotel to everone, who wants to visit Munnar.
