A wonderful ryokan in Aizuwakamatsu, with the most helpful and diligent staff! I never went a day without being completely full, my breakfast and dinner were absolutely wonderful! The bath area was calming and spotless clean! Cannot recommend this place enough!

The man out front helping with parking and the man assisting in the restaurant were exceptional and extremely helpful and friendly. In general, they were all extremely good, given the language barrier. The private bath, with the view of the falls, is wonderful. For anyone over 5' 5" or 175 cm, be aware that the building is 135 yrs old, so has low beams in some areas.

Beautiful location by the river, lovely Japanese style room, wonderfully relaxing private outdoor onsen which you can book for 45 minutes, amazing kaiseki evening meal. The evening shamisen performance was a nice touch. The staff went out of their way to make us feel welcome, spoke English to us, and catered for my husband’s food allergy.
