A great hotel just across the road from the train station.
A great hotel just across the road from the train station. Close to other attractions eg the fish market. The room was a great size and big compared to other Japanese rooms we have stayed.
The breakfast was wonderful - a mix of Japanese and Western food.
The staff were friendly.
We wished we could have stayed longer but we only stayed for a night as a stop over.

Planned for 1 night stay; however while we arrived at Hakodate in the morning, there was unfortunately a slight snow storm that impeded our evening and night touring! And the storm continued till next morning and in the afternoon we left Hakodate for Sapporo, so didn't have the chance to see what we have planned.

We stayed overnight at Hakodate travelling from and back to Sapporo. We got to enjoy the morning seafood market that we were looking forward to and got to visit other places of interest on our drive from and back to Sapporo.
The visits to Mt Hakodate Observatory and Goryokaku Tower were enjoyable and it was also a good thing that the weather was cooperated and we had clear views of the city and sea.

Hakodate is a lovely place to explore if you enjoy Hokkaido seafood. It is a costal city and beautiful in autumn. I explored the city taking the trams and walking. The Red Brick Warehouse is a great place to shop and eat. The streets are super clean and easy to walk. The parks are beautiful with autumn coloured trees and flowers.

I heard so much about the sweet melon.
I heard so much about the sweet melon. Bought a slice at Y400 to try it out. Rather disappointed. Not sweet.
Have to beware about the price difference between sellers for crabs.
Knowing Y per Kg helps.
Front desk staff speak good english and are very corteous. Fast check in/out. Very spacious rooms. Few minutes walk from Hakodate station and very near tram station. Convenience store and restaurarant nearby.
Breakfast is delicious.
My brother forgot his ring at his room and front desk Nakashima immediately sent me an email. Since we are already going back to Sapporo, they sent it to our hotel. Since it was an affiliate hotel (APA Susukino Ekimae) they did not charge courrier cost.
Thank you housekeeping and front desk staff.
breakfast was lovely , times to use the onsen were accommodating. From Hakodate station take tram number 5 and it’ll drop you off 3mins walk from the hotel. I forgot my charger and the hotel forwarded it to my next hotel free of charge. The staff were very nice and spoke good English. Chang was amazing and made my first ryokan stay a special one. The hotel does have a card machine, disregard what it says on booking.com.
The location is incredible, a very short walk from the JR station and main bus stop which connects you to everywhere. The tourist information counter at the JR station and will tell you exactly how to get to and back from different places. The Hakodate Morning Market is right next to the hotel, delicious meals everyday. Also, the Onsen on the 18th floor has amazing views. Can’t ask for more.
Apparently new hotel, designed by inspired architects, both atrium with reception and the rooms. In the room and the bathroom (bathtub and WC separated) impeccable cleanliness, everything needed exist for a comfortable staying, nothing more. Fabulous breakfast!
Ideal location: 100 m walking distance from Hakodate Station.which is in the historical city center.
The property is only 5 minutes from Hakodate Station which makes it very convenient for travellers.
Shiyakusho-mae and Hakodate Ekimae are the nearest tram station (only 2mins walk). The tram / street car will take you to all famous spots in Hakodate.
There are some konbini near the hotel. I had everyhing I needed. I enjoyed my stay. Thank you
1. Good location, that has convenience store right below the hotel. There is a tram station and a few bus stops (slightly away from the hotel) that goes to Hakodate Station. Walkable distance to Goryokaku Koen.
2. Good spread of breakfast buffet
3. Room size was slightly bigger than the average room size in Tokyo.
Hotel is quite close to Hakodate station. Everything is very standard, typical of a small hotel use by workman staying the night.
I can open my window to allow fresh air. The view is quite nice.
The room is small but enough for one person. It is a good value for money.
The hotel staff were very friendly and helpful. The view from the room was absolutely gorgeous, and the hotel was centrally located to both local and non-local transit. It was very easy to get around Hakodate as well as catch the Hokuto limited to Sapporo from our hotel.
The family room.is cosy, comfortable and spacious with good room layout. The kitchenette, though small, but is well equipped.
The hotel staff is friendly and very helpful. The location is great, next to Hakodate morning market, and 5mins walk from JR main station.
Right next to Hakodate Station. The morning market was behind the hotel. Spacious room. Clean and hygienic. Breakfast got lots of varieties including salmon roe, salmon/shrimp/squid sashimi, noodle soup, rice, curry, fruits, fresh juice, coffee and much more...
This was a very cozy hotel with very friendly staff, we arrived a day late cause of flight delays and we had no problem checking in immediately and resting in our room. The location was also very good, quite walkable to the main tourist areas in Hakodate
The hotel is just next to the JR station and morning market. Good for travellers who do hakodate as a stopover. The room is bigger than I expected. Good and strong water pressure for shower there is washing machine for use in the hotel. .
Awesome budget hotel right next to JR Hakodate station. Spacious room and bathroom. Comes with access to an onsen as well in the building! Close walking distance to the Morning Markets and close to the tram station to take you futher.
This was my second time staying at this hotel. Excellent location, great onsen, and a courteous staff. Everything you need for a good base of operations for your Hakodate visit.
