We chose the option with meals included and we were really impressed with the variety, quantity and quality of it. Every meal had several courses with excellent presentation and served by lovely staff.

Excellent hotel, stayed in the family room - lobby was absolutely amazing and the staff were so friendly.
Onsen was beautiful, well kept and maintained. Really enjoyed my stay here. It's a shame we didn't get to stay long enough to enjoy the onsen more.
There's a family mart literally outside the hotel so you can always grab supplies there and get it to your room.
Roomy was excellent (family room) can't speak about the other rooms. I loved it so much I wish i could have stayed longer with a lot more of family. There was a lot of guests who kept the environment very enjoyable. Very children friendly !!

Very friendly and welcoming host who managed to help us with very little English. A large room with big windows we could open and let in the fresh mountain air. A beautiful onsen. Biggest highlight was spectacular traditional dinner and breakfast. 5minute walk up hill to the Hakone Ropeway to Lake Ishi and Cablecar to Gora. We even got a glimpse of Mount Fuji from Ropeway. Venue situated right near busstop to Odawara.

It’s tastefully designed with very welcoming staff. Dinner is optional with an additional cost and a log fire in the communal area is lit in the evenings- a lovely touch. Very clean with a big bathroom and bedroom area for two people. It’s also well located for local amenities and tourist attractions.

One of the highlights of our trip to Japan was visiting Hakone. We would wholeheartedly recommend staying in Gora and doing the loop up to the mountain and then on the sightseeing boat. The Hakone Free-Pass offers great value for money.
The Hakone Open Air Museum and Gora Park Crafthouse were amazing

The hakone free pass is excellent and a must for all visitors. There is an abundance of sites and tourist offerings about the area. We did the railways the open air museum the boat and ropeway and achieved all of this within about 24 hours. It is a beautiful destination and a must from the hustle and bustle of the city life

It’s the perfect break from the city buzz of Tokyo. There are arts and nature and the sights to explore. A hidden treasure that will impress those looking for a slower pace to unwind. I feel like kids and teenagers may find it boring.

Hakone is a fun area.
Hakone is a fun area. It’s very easy to get around on buses, cable car, and ropeway (gondola). The FreePass is a must. The lake and Mt Fuji are beautiful but so is the surrounding forest. The museums are quite nice too. We especially had a fun time at the Open Air Museum.

We liked Hakone very much.
We liked Hakone very much. It was not clear to us how long it takes to get to the ropeway and cable car and our hotel in. We had no idea it took almost an hour to get from our hotel to all the sights. We would have liked to see the open air museum, but we ran out of time. We only had one day and should have booked 2. Hakone needs 2 nights!!

A stunning rural area with plenty to see and do.
A stunning rural area with plenty to see and do. The round trip by bus, boat, train, cable car and funicular works brilliantly and enables you to visit all the local sights which are stunning, especially the crater of Owakudani, where you travel by cable car over the crater from which sulfur gas fumes constantly rise,
Beautiful traditional hotel in the mountains. Our room was very spacious (twin with an onsen and it was so worth it). We have also checked out the communal onsen which had both an inside and outside pools and a very chill vibe. Amazing traditional Japanese dinner and breakfast - don't expect cereal or eggs, this is very different to a European breakfast. We loved walking around the hotel in our yucatas. Overall an amazing stay. I'd also recommend the Hakone sculpture park afterwards - it's a 20 minute walk away or a bus ride.
The whole property has a 140 years history, which could be seen as a representative of the ryokan culture in Hakone. We were very pleased to stay at the hotel. Staffs were very friendly, they even got a staff can speak Chinese, who gave us a lot of help. The private onsen and the villa itself were a great experience. My parents stayed in the villa and they felt like so relaxed after a long day. Food were great too. We also ordered a Sake and it was not very expensive. In total, everything was great in here.
While the location of this ryokan is not so convenient(we went there by Odakyu bus from Shinjuku, but there was a pickup service from hotel to nearest bus stop “Plaza hotel Mae”), my mom and I had a great time in their onsen with good food and the best facilities. All staff are well trained and very polite, every single thing they put in the room was delightful and thoughtful. It was worth to spend my vacation. I would like to go back again when I have a chance!!
Location was a little difficult to get to as it was located up a steep hill, but in return, you get the most beautiful view in the Hakone area of Lake Ashi and Mt Fuji. The indoor and outdoor onsen were small but usually timing works out that you have the bath to yourself. It was more than enough, and the view from the outdoor onsen was beautiful. I wish I could have stayed longer!
The villa was very spacious and many amenities were provided.
Beautiful hotel in front of the lake, secluded and quiet. Had a nice onsen. Both Japanese and Western in-house restaurants were fantastic (though a bit pricey). Had a shuttle bus to the train station, which is very convenient. Also had an hourly shuttle bus to Moto-Hakone which is very useful because the public transport options to the hotel are quite limited. Hotel staff were very friendly and helpful.
1. The location is 1 bus stop away from the hakone yumoto station, ie 10mins walk distance.
2. Our room came with dinner and breakfast and both meals were not too bad. I enjoyed breakfast more tbh. There is a restaurant beside the Ryokan if you do not enjoy the meals or doesn't suit your taste.
3. There are public and private reserved onsen.
4. They also have a vending machine.
Amazing setting and building situated in a great location near motohakone. Easy travel via bus to Gora or elsewhere in Hakone or ferry across Lake Ashi.
The staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome. It has a hotel vibe but is high end.
Breakfast and dinner were cooked on site by the staff and were delicious and good value.
Showers and amenities provided were great.
Superb modern onsen hotel that is conveniently located next to Gora station (barely 100 metres). We booked the annex room with an open onsen. They also have a private onsen available in main building to book for 45 minutes.
Our vegetarian kaiseki dinner and breakfast was perfect and highlight of the stay. Will definitely come back the next time we're in Hakone.
Public & private onsen, good breakfast & fantastic dinner!! Very good location as bus stop is just in front of the hotel & other bus line stop also is just a few hundreds meters away. This is my 2nd stay & definitely will be back again if I am heading to Hakone again. There are on premise parking too, thus probably I will be considering for self drive next time.
The staff was OUTSTANDING!!! Kind, warm, knowledgeable, friendly, accommodating, and caring. Lin, one of the inn keepers, helped us tremendously!!!
The onsen was FANTASTIC!!!
On this trip, we’ve been to many hotels, ryokans, and onsens! By far, this was was clean, beautiful, and over-the-top wonderful with staff who made it PERFECT!!!
I loved the location, staff, and onsens. It was a very short walk to Hakone Yumoto station, which is the big way in and out of Hakone. The staff was so polite and eager to help all the time. The women's onsen was absolutely sublime. It was always clean, and towels and yukata were provided. I would absolutely stay there again.
We stayed two weeks at Field Hakone Resort to enjoy lake Ashi and its surroundings. The location of the hotel is perfect to move around the Hakone Area (very good accessible with bus). The staff is also very nice and the rooms big and comfortable. We will definitely return in our next trip to Japan!
This Ryokan is perfect: good value, convenient location (bus stop is just two steps to the hotel), staff is knowledgeable, friendly and courteous, 24 hrs onsen access. Our rooms are large, clean and have window view to the mountain. Food is excellent. This Ryokan is highly recommended.
Offering panoramic views of Lake Ashi. High quality decor and furnishings. Excellent onsen facilities. Superb meals. Pleasant indoor and outdoor relaxation areas. Shuttle bus service from Odawara station to the hotel and back.
Location- just a short and direct walk across from Hakone-Yumoto Station, with an elevator to go right up to level of hotel.
Spacious comfortable room, good onsen facilities.
The hotel was very clean. The onsen was well maintained. The staff was friendly and prompt. The location is perfect. It's as close to the Hakone Yumoto station as you can be.
Nice atmosphere thanks to the historical charm of the hotel. Great to have an onsen on location. Spacious room.
And perfectly located to do the Hakone loop.
