Really great town to wind down and relax.
Really great town to wind down and relax. Very calm, with very welcoming people. The port is nice to look around, its a classic spot to check out for fans of the Anime series Free, and a pretty town beyond that. Cycling around is very enjoyable

Iwami is a beautifully, hidden secret to the Japan sea.
Iwami is a beautifully, hidden secret to the Japan sea. It’s a quiet and quaint town with gorgeous views of the ocean and God’s creation! Restaurants, cafés and great sushi await your visit. I wanna do Iwado (in Iwado), Ajiroya and a new sandwich cafe by Uradome Coast Cruise and the Tea Room were all special places we visited as well as the Sand Dune area where new restaurants and cafés have also popped up.

Very nice and quiet place on very beautiful seacost.
Very nice and quiet place on very beautiful seacost. There is a tourist information centre next to jr station. 20 minutes by bus to uratomi seacost cruise place. A lot of shops and restorants/cafe with good food and good prices. So nice place for beach vacations.

The town itself is nothing special with little restaurants,...
The town itself is nothing special with little restaurants, a bus that runs pretty infrequently, and a train that runs at very few stations, but the nature and rock formations around the coast are beautiful! There is great hiking and a trail that goes along the entire coast. Would definitely recommend. If you are looking to go from Iwamicho to Tottori Sand dunes, you are looking at a full day trek. Go fully prepared as there is little to get replenishment from along the way, especially if you are traveling during a Japanese holiday.
