Miyazaki is incredible. The people are friendly and kind.
Miyazaki is incredible. The people are friendly and kind. The scenery is breathtaking. The food is amazing. I recommend the local foods like chicken nanban and jidori, which you can get at most restaurants and izakayas. There's also a lot of citrus themed snacks and drinks, as hyuganatsu is a popular fruit. Miyazaki is also famous for beef and mango.
It's also a great place for people who like history and legends. Many of the shrines are very old. There are many "power spots" related to the Shinto legends and gods.
There are mountains, beaches, rivers, shrines, museums, cafes - all kinds of places to visit. I highly recommend visiting Miyazaki if you can.
Regarding transportation, it is one of those places where renting a car is ideal. It can be a little difficult to travel around without a car here. It can be done, but if you don't have a lot of time to spend on public transportation I would recommend getting a car. Additionally, Miyazaki is a popular place for motorcycles, especially in the countryside on the winding mountain roads.
Overall, Miyazaki is a great place to visit!

The hotel is just next to the train station which is super convenient. It is the best JR hotel that I've stayed so far. The room is big and spacious. It is pretty new looking bright and clean. Couldn't ask for anything more. Execellent!

I’ve been here four times.
I’ve been here four times. Great spot for relaxing and chilling. Beach is a hop skip and a jump away.
Weather is of a tropical warm nature.
If you’re travelling from Miyazaki airport by train, it’s a bit complicated as you have to change and wait for another train from Nichinan line. As for returning to the airport, it’s a bit confusing which train to board at the changeover platform.

Miyazaki is a wonderful city.
Miyazaki is a wonderful city. It's like a different side of Japan with such natural scenic views. Lush greenery, blue waters, flowers and friendly people await you. One thing is that the nice spots are difficult and or take long to get to, so driving is a good choice. This is not to deter those who don't drive as there are tons of places to visit, waterfalls, gorges and so on. One should consider some of the places not advertised. If you can spend many days then you can visit one place at a time to soak in more. Visitors can get a one-day bus pass which saves a great lot of money.
Some places to visit are Florante, Heiwadai Park, Amagajo Park, Takachiho Gorge (go very early if you want to do the boat ride) Sekinoo Falls, Nagata Gorge, Sun Messe Nichinan, Udo Jingu Shrine, Aoshima and Aya City with the suspension Bridge.
Places to eat include: Ogura Honten and Maruman which are close to and in Nishitachi respectively. Namban and Charcoal Chicken are two delicious dishes which can be enjoyed there. Don't leave without trying them!

We have limited days of holiday, we drive all day long from Fukuoka to Miyazaki and the main purpose is to visit Sun Messe Nichinan. I have never thought that such a popular tourism access area is closed on Wednesday. Public Access Tourism Area should have open all day long... We are very disappointed and we also found other tourist faced the same issues.

It's a lovely small city which is perfect for a 3-day trip.
It's a lovely small city which is perfect for a 3-day trip. There are trains and buses that allow you to travel around the city easily. I stayed there for 3 days and went to see the stunning views nearby, such as Takachiho and SunMesse Nichinan.
Our corner room at this hotel was quite large and nice; not luxurious, but lots of room to move around in and relax after a long day of driving. It was a bit confusing at first, but the hotel is right next to the car rental return, which made it very convenient for us to return our car. The train station was an easy walk from the hotel the next morning. The room was vey clean and the breakfast the next morning was good. We enjoyed a nice dinner that night at an izakaya in the same building, just a few floors down from the hotel.
There is a section at the lobby which provide (no limited serving) welcome Japanese Shochu (liquor) where most other hotel provides only tea and coffee. Staff are friendly and there is a public car park opposite the hotel. Short few minutes walk from the hotel there are restaurants and shopping street. Also directly opposite the hotel there is a store selling a varieties of mochi (Japanese rice cake). A bit expensive for the supposedly popular ones but not too bad. I patronised a restaurant that had tasty Ramen.
One of the best places I’ve stayed at during my time in Japan! The room is comfortable, the view from the shared kitchen is amazing and the hosts are really nice and helpful. I didn’t have a car but there’s a bus stop nearby with 4-5 busses a day in each direction - so if you wanna visit Aoshima or Udo Jingu it‘s easily accessible from there, even without a car!
Convenient location - located in the central area of Miyazaki close to restaurants and shops.
10 minute walk to Miyazaki station. From Miyazaki station it was a 10 minute train ride to Miyazaki airport.
The famous chicken nanban restaurant Ogura Honten is right next to the hotel - you have to try it!
Convenience stores 7-Eleven and Lawson are nearby.
This time we stayed 2 nights and 3 days and we all had a relax stay there.
The bathtub was made by wood, and smells nicely. Kids played in the bathtub as it’s enough to play inside.
The room was Japanese style, so we slept on Japanese futon.
There are enough parking spots for cars, and it’s easy to park for me who are not good driver.
All rooms have a front sea view where you can enjoy the sunrise early morning. Ideally located with direct access to the beach and running tracks and all surrounding touristic places. Onsen facilities are exceptional and very well maintained. A delight.
Lots of parking space infront and immediately close to the hotel
it is one of the best stay I have in Japan! the house is literally next to river, so quiet and clean, and owner has a really good taste of interior design!
bus close by and convient store is walking distance. in the morning you can hear bird singing and the hill in fog :) so beautiful so relaxing
Location is great. Lots of things around.
Breakfast is so so, you will have a poor choice of breakfast options at Komeda coffee shop (not the best in Japan), but it's better than nothing.
It's a good hotel, great value in my opinion.
Staff is supportive.
The room service and food was good. Bed was super comfortable. The bakery was delicious and the personal onsen was awesome. The hotel service was nothing less than exceptional! Beautiful views and great amenities. Thank you for such a great stay
Have hotel carparks (parking lot 1 and parking lot 2) (payment required), big house hold store and drug store nearby. Buffet breakfast with sufficient options and good quality, with mini oven to reheat the croissant is a bonus.
The location is next to Shotengai (Shopping Arcade)
There is a Mega Don Quijote store opposite the hotel
Free healthy breakfast
Spacious room compared to other hotels
It's a busy hotel despite staying during weekdays. Onsen, probiotic drink, Ice pops, ramen, coffee and tea service, amenities, yummy breakfast are all wonderful.
