Although I had made my reservation months in advance, as well as contacted the property the day before my reservation to confirm my arrival time, the property contacted me on the day of my reservation to notify me that they were overbooked and needed to move me to a nearby hotel. They moved my sister and I to an adult only "Love Hotel" nearby which I found disappointing. I am disappointed that the managers of Oganoya did not honor a booking that had been made months in advance, and did not contact me before to notify me of the problem. I feel it is unorganized and poor customer service.

Oga is a hidden gem of Japan. Don't skip this area!

Oga is a hidden gem of Japan. Don't skip this area! Cooler than down south and not as busy so you can really enjoy traveling around the peninsula. Check out the Namahage Museum while you're there, it's educational and entertaining.
