I like the ocean view.my kids enjoyed it so much. I was disappointed of food, unlike last year they serve a lot of food in our table during dinner time, compared now, self service and only few menus in there with the same price last year.😔😕

Went to Shimoda mid Sept which was lean season for summer adventure so less people around. It offers good beaches and many water activities. Stayed for a week which gives us relaxing time to enjoy the beach and places to see.

Great town right on the coast, has a number of great beaches nearby and beautiful rocky coastlines and cliffs to see. It is more of a tourist town though, so expect prices of things to be high. Be ready to hear constantly about Commodore Perry and the Black Ships! Some things require you to sign up or buy tickets well in advance; it's worth looking up anything you're interested in trying beforehand to see if it does.
Best coffee we had was at the Hana Cafe, best food was the South Cafe.

We very much enjoyed our stay at the Beach Inn Shirahama.
We very much enjoyed our stay at the Beach Inn Shirahama. It's right across the street from a lovely beach and the breakfast was quite nice. We loved the 2 outdoor onsens that are built on the 1F. Great to watch the stars from there amidst the treetops!
View and location. On top of a hill, among trees, overlooking a beautiful bay. You need a car to move around, but there a shuttle bus to shimoda and small but beautiful beach few metres away.
Spacious room. One of largest we found in Japan.
Clean and functional room.
On site onsen. Small but with indoor and outdoor pool, the outdoor one with nice view of the bay.
Nice pool to chill about.
Overall Shimoda is quite expensive, also the hotel does not come cheap but value for money is good.
Somewhat older property but in a stunning location and well-maintained. One negative, - access to the onsen lacks elevators and requires climbing stairs. The onsen itself is again a little dated but the location and views of the beach more than makes up for this. Our room service was superb - everything one can wish for in a onsen-ryokan experience.
There is a free shuttle service to the Shimoda train station.
Beautiful view, super friendly & helpful staff (who recommended various beaches and restaurants, which was much appreciated!), comfortable beds, and great location. Smaller, quieter beaches within walking distance and the larger/busier beaches only a short drive away. We didn’t use any of the rental services this time, but will definitely make use of them in the future. Free coffee was also a plus in the morning!
Amazing customer service from Yuki. He was an absolute jet helping us with everything we needed, recommendations, questions on the Shimoda area and he even kept in hourly contact when we left Shimoda to help us with train services etc. Just went above and beyond.
The property is in an ideal location, close to everything, clean, comfortable beds, welcoming and has a great vibe.
It was a 5-10 min walk to the beach. the view from the infinity pool was spectacular same with the two open air baths which can use for free. The rooms are all clean, the fact that they dont let you wear your outside shoes inside the hotel was a plus for me even if its a little inconvenience when you need to go out real quick.
The staff were all awesome.
This hotel was in a great location and had a great view. Right along a beautiful beach and the view was amazing. The rooms and bathrooms looked a little older but it had everything needed, it was clean, and the beds were really comfortable. We stayed in a room with a tatami mat area and even the futon bed was comfortable.
Excellent place to stay in Shirahama Beach. Owner was lovely, check in and out were super easy. Comfy bed. Board rentals available. Really convenient location across the road from the beach. Breakfast was nice. Great little cafe called Irie Coffee and Sea. Would highly recommend this Inn and cafe.
Very friendly staff that speak good English! Clean rooms with all amenities. Walking distance from the beach, convenience store etc. A beautiful view.
Normally we don't like onsen, but at this hotel we could make a private booking as a couple which was great.
The location is too good with the full ocean view rooms!!
The beach near the hotel is almost like a private beach!! Free breakfast! Free dinner!! With free nomihodai!!
This is definitely Great to stay with your family!!!
Good location. Room was spacious with good view. Pleasant staff. Reasonable value overall. The hotel premises is very dated and a bit tired but overall on balance I think it was good value for the price.
The location is very close to Shirahama beach and 2 convenient stores; the host is very friendly and helpful; the room has both mountain and sea view; we can also book the big bath for private use
The host was informative, sincere(We arrived after !0:00pm.), hospitable, kind, and a great photographer. Shirahama Beach was nearby. Plenty of nature surrounding Sakura Pension.
The place is close to the beach, with super kind and friendly manager and lots of tea and snacks for free. The photos don’t do it justice. It was way better than I had expected!
Nice hotel by the port and 10mins walk from train station. Nice onsen in the hotel. Large variety of food for breakfast and dinner. Free bike hire to explore the town.
Excellent stuff, perfect location and reasonable price - that all you need to spend a great day close to Shirahama beach! Highly recommend the place to everyone!
