Lots to do around this area if you love the outdoors OR just want a quite weekend away from the crowds, half hour to Nagano, for Winter close to some of Japan's best ski resorts - Myoko, Hakuba, Madarao, Nozawa. For summer Nijiri lake is an adventure paradise for things to do in and out of the water. Super easy to come by car or shinkasen from Tokyo.

The hotel is newly renovated, very clean, the rooms were spacious and had incredible views over the lake, breakfast was delicious and Chris and Mark went out of their way to help us. We look forward to returning in Winter. Thanks for a great stay!

The hot bath was closed but they gave us access in the hotel next to it which was adjoining building and it was a beautiful and relaxing bath.
