The owner and staff are very kind and caring. The woman who serves the meals was great and took time to help us understand what all the varieties of food were. It is a great traditional japanese inn experience with a nice onsen and good quality meals. The location has great views as well, it would be excellent during cherry blossom season.

ゲストハウス 鍼灸院 boshcetto, hotel in Yoshino

Set in Yoshino, 35 km from Subaru Hall, ゲストハウス 鍼灸院 boshcetto offers accommodation with free bikes, free private parking and a shared lounge.

Excellent little spot! Wonderful host, he speaks some English and will tell you all about the area. We stayed in the Japanese-style room, the futons were very comfortable and warm. As it is a gueshouse, there are shared spaces for guests to use - a fully equipped kitchen, loungeroom, a simple bathroom and 2 toilets. Free wifi throughout. Please be considerate of other guests and neighbouring houses regarding noise, especially at night. About a 12 min walk to Yoshinojingu Station (1 stop away from Yoshino Station), there is a convenience store about 8 min walk away, and there is an awesome chinese restaurant near Yoshinojingu Station. Highly recommend this place!

Fukubatake B&B, hotel in Yoshino

Fukubatake B&B is a recently renovated bed and breakfast in Yoshino, where guests can make the most of its garden and shared lounge.

Staying here was absolutely wonderful. These folks are incredibly generous, warm, interesting people who are fun to be around and who are happy to share their authentic Japanese country home with others. Yuki and KoMay believe in organic, locally produced food and Yuki is an excellent cook. 'Breakfast' turned out to be a genuinely superb three course meal with home made hot soup, a gorgeous plate of all sorts of delicious treats including tempura herbs (from the garden), home made bread and little bean sweet treats. KoMay is working on his organic garden and Yuki turns it into a feast! KoMay is a professional jazz pianist. He is quite brilliant at improvisation and is happy to entertain with music as well as conversation. We felt incredibly privileged to stay with such genuine and interesting people.

The feeling of staying in a old genuine Japanese house. They put a blanket on the table which reaches the floor, and there is a heater under the table. Great way to keep warm while sitting at the table. in the main house, the bedroom is on the first floor and the bathroom on the main floor, which means navigating steep stairs if you need to get up in the middle of the night.

We have been visiting Japan for 3 weeks while staying at a wide variety of hotels, ryokan and airBnB, but this experience was by far the most amazing one. It is hard to describe the feeling of staying at this place filled with history, lost in the middle of the mountain. The owner was extra nice, she was the one to sit outside for 1 hour to boil the water of the bath for us to enjoy, and in the morning she offered us some very tasty juice ! Wandering in the school at night is an incredible experience, looking at the old photos of the children and the microscopes and the blackboards… The ping-pong table, huge manga library and barbecue will keep you up until late in the night ! So many things to do while enjoying the feeling of the place ! If you want to make a barbecue though, please make sure to bring you own firelighter or it might prove challenging ! The futon were confortable, and the kotetsu was so nice ! It's hard to encounter a location that have one so if you want the full Japanese experience go for it ! Cold drinks were available for a fee which was very pleasant. We honestly wish we could have stayed more, and if we go back to Japan, we definitely will go the extra mile to come back here ! Also, promise, no ghosts ! Just a black cat roaming around x) Thanks again to the owner for everything, I hope we can meet again :)

Come during cherry blossom season, Yoshino town is famous for Mount Yoshino, a mountain full of cherry blossoms. The hike up to the summit from the trailhead takes about 2 hours, so plan accordingly. It is a relatively easy hike with asphalt roads and moderate inclination. There are also many temples and shrines along the way up. Parking is really expensive along the hiking route, so taking a bus is probably the best option.

A great place to experience Japanese nature and calmness.

A great place to experience Japanese nature and calmness. We went there off season and were the only tourists around! The temple is a world heritage site and really magical. Everything in the village closes at 4pm which was a bit annoying sometimes but also forces you to rest and come Down! Tip from us, definitely take the hike to the top of the mountains if the weather is nice, it’s super nice!

You need 2 nights and a full day here and you need to love mountains! On the first afternoon we walked from the ryokan down to the station and back using the cable car ropeway for the hard bit from the station. Lots of lovely shrines and templea and family run cafes. Day 2 get ready to hike up Yoshino mountain along paved road to see the remaining shrines and temples. From the ryokan it takes about 90 mins up and about 5kms. I am overweight with bad knees and i managed it so if you take it slowly you will be fine. Magnificent experience. When you get to the shrine number 11 on the local map, don’t do number 12 unless you are dead keen.my friend did that bit and he was scared at times. Narrow path. Rocky etc. I believe you can go on from the loop at the top which is about 30 mins to do another 4kms across to another temple. My advice is be happy with getting to 11, walk back down into the village and have a late lunch then go soak in your onsen!

The staff was very attentive and sociable. Even with the language barrier they were very communicative, fun, kind and most impressively anticipated our needs. They also introduced us to Yoshino in a unique way thanks to their local connections. The property is also well designed and we feel in love with the Japanese baths. Finally the meals from the chef was the best dinning experience we have ever experienced with elegant and delicious meals catered to our tests which only improved as they learned our preferences.

I absolutely loved the house. It was great value for money, my friend and I stayed the night and had the place to ourselves where we could cook, watch movies, play games. It had heaters, a sitting kotatsu table, an and hot water bottles to keep warm. The aesthetics also offered a warm and comfortable feel. Overlooking the mountains and Yoshino river, the property was beautiful and relaxing. Hosoi San was very helpful, caring, and sent us several options to help us find places that meet our dietary needs.

The property is very beautiful and the check-in and check-out process had been very smooth. We chose this place specifically because it provides proper beds (two twin beds in the annex). Most Japanese hotels including the fancy ones only provide floor sleeping arrangement and the availability of beds really helped our parents who find sleeping on the floor uncomfortable. The beds turned out to be wonderful for them and the room is very quiet at night so everyone was able to get quality sleep.

The location was superb, with the room carrying a lovely aesthetic and comfort. The offered breakfast was delicious and the facilities are all neat and clean. The owners were very accomodating and kind. It would be a property I would visit again for a longer period of time. The area surrounding also contains a serene environment to explore with its mountain range located past Yoshino and town by the train station.

The place is pretty. Tastefully furnished with everything necessary to stay, cook & wash. It is very near a supermarket. The train station is about 8min walk away. Train ride to Yoshino is about 4min (2 stops). Works for me and my family to do stay 2 nights and have a full day trip to Mt Yoshino. The bedroom with 2 beds is actually a separate house which gives you nice privacy.

It was a little hard to find because my maps told me to walk the path that you reach by car but then the staff messaged me what I needed to do,which I would recommend asking them before coming to make it easier. The room was spacious and clean. The shower was nice. Will come back again if I visit Yoshino. The place though is about 2 hours from Nara by train.

The staff was super friendly and helpful. That alone is worth coming here. The front room is so cozy and there is a massage machine. Location wise you can do Yoshino by walk during a day going up and back and you could even choose the quiet path starting north. There is nothing to do see but it is tranquil as you also don't see the hordes of tourists.

Nice little almost-shukubō near Yoshino. The monk who runs this place was super friendly and very helpful. The temple is surprisingly hard to get to from the station, but the monk came and picked us up.
