The island is very small and you can walk it, in flip-flops, rather slowly from one end to another in about 15 minutes. It is very quiet, full of wonderful beaches, seemed safe and the grocery store was easily reachable as well.

Dharavandhoo is a very laid back locals island.

Dharavandhoo is a very laid back locals island. There is not much to do other than diving and beach time, both of which were truly wonderful. The island does not allow alcohol, and females should respect the Muslim culture and cover shoulders and thighs, and swim at the "bikini beach." A bicycle is all that is needed to get around the island, Keep in mind that there are few cafes and shops, so be prepared for diving, sun and relaxation. Airport provides convenient transfers to Male,

Small and quiet island occupied in its half by an airport and on the other half by the locals and a few guesthouses. Perfect place to relax and forget all the rest. Not much to see on the island. Few souvenir shops and one restaurant near the airport. Some excursions are organized by the guesthouses. Very quiet place. Friendly people, lovely beach and dolphins strolling by. I recommend Honney Bunny restaurant next to the airport. Dharavandhoo is not a place to stay for too long if you prefer busy environments.

Layers Cafe & Bakers is perfect place to buy fresh bakery or eat something. The staff is very friendly. I highly recommend for diving and Hanifaru manta trip the Liquid Salt Divers team. In the Harbor, you can find the Cafe'D Port with original Italian Carraro coffee. Perfect place for drink an espresso or Cappuccino or eat something. The Code Black and JIS cafe are good place to drink a good coffee. The best food shop is close to the Baa Atoll Shool. You can see the gate of the scholl from the entrance of shop. In the harbor, you can buy souvenirs in two souvenir shop and data card in the ooredoo shop. Finally, you can withdraw cash from ATM at airport. Enjoy your stay in Dharavandhoo!

Very nice local island with great people where you will enjoy the genuine maldivian culture. I would highly recommend it. It is just 15/20 minutes by plane from Malé airport, and also has Hanifaru bay at 15' by boat, an amazing place for snorkelling and see the Manta rays.

Dharavandhoo is a relatively small island, half of which is occupied by the village, the other half is covered by a thick, beautiful jungle forest. The village is small (about 700 or so people) but beautiful, with clean streets and friendly locals, who like to color their homes and make them look nice. There are a few souvenir shops, at least one grocery shop and two diving centers in the village. The grocery shop has mainly everything you might need outside of what is provided by your hotel. There is also a clinic on the island, in case you need to see a doctor (but hopefully you won't need it). There are a small, nice harbor and the airport. Oh, yes, there is also a taxi: one or two cars in the village, just in case.
