It's a very picturesque small village. We didn't see much of it, unfortunately. It rained a lot, which kept us indoors. Curieuse Island is exceptional. It's a must-see. However, be aware: the snorkeling part is rather disappointing. If you have your own gear, bring it. The equipment provided locally was quite basic and of poor quality. Gerry, a local taxi driver, is outstanding; if you ever get the chance to explore the island with him.
You really need to choose the right time of year. The Seychelles lose some of their charm in the rain.
Moreover, the biggest challenge remains the cost of everything.

It is a good starting point to explore Praslin island.
It is a good starting point to explore Praslin island. The beach is fine and good for swimming. The buses run regularly to the other parts of the island if you want to explore. It is also the best starting point to see land turtles on Couriesse island. If you don't want to spend a fortune on food, there are some tasty take away options for 60-100 rupies.

Perfect place to stay longer from where you can go visit...
Perfect place to stay longer from where you can go visit other places like Curieuse island (turtle island), many snorkelling places (but you have to go for a trip, you can not snorkell straight from the beach), other places to visit are reachable by car - a lot of car rentals there.
We loved Les Lauriers Eco hotel, stayed there for 10 nights - amazing place to stay and we ate there also - you will understand after dinner why they usually are fully booked and it is better to book a place there in advance.

Lovely sandy crescent beach with calm waters for swimming.
Lovely sandy crescent beach with calm waters for swimming. Small village with a good selection of restaurants, from take-aways to higher end cuisine. Be aware that some restaurants and businesses ( i.e., kayak rental/ tour excursions) close in the low season of May-early June. It is a popular and very convenient starting point for day-trips to Curieuse Island and snorkelling outings to the offshore islands.

Beautiful long white sandy beach that's not too crowded.
Beautiful long white sandy beach that's not too crowded. Snorkelling not great from here but water was warm and inviting. Lot's of palms and flowering shrubs along the beach which hides the road the other side. 3 small supermarkets, KKT and A1 both sell booze. They drive on the left and you don't need an adaptor if coming from the UK.
