The island is a good location for a peaceful family...
The island is a good location for a peaceful family friendly trip. We stayed 6 nights which was probably on the long side. I would suggest a three night trip would be perfect as there isn't much to do and the little shop for food supplies is very expensive.

Swedish beautiful nature, cozy trip to the island by boat.
Swedish beautiful nature, cozy trip to the island by boat. Nice small houses in the middle of the forrest, simple but functional. Not imprest by the selection in the food store; over prized and limited selection, bring your own stuff and save the money for ice cream and horse ride for the childeren instead:)
What a pearl! Grinda and Grinda Wärdshus is just a fantastic place to go to! We had a lovely time staying there, the surroundings are very typical Swedish, loved walking the Grindatrail which was absolutely magical after thunder storms and rain. First night we could sit outside having our dinner - the food was amazing, as was the view! Our room was pretty basic but had all we needed for our short stay. We will be back!
We love Grinda! We are coming back 1-2 times per year. Cottages are lovely, quite clean and you have everything you need for cooking. No running water and you need to take your own sleeping bags/bedsheets but hey, that's what it is about :) Nice walks in the forest/seaside, calm and beautiful views.
The cottages allow to visit Grinda and neighbouring islands. I guess they are equivalent to any other cottage on other islands of the archipelago from what we could see ! Which means that there is no water inside the cottage, and one has to cope with the smelly dry toilets !
Beautiful old world building with nice cabins with multiple rooms. Location is superb. Staff? I want to move there and work on the team! they seem so happy. Swimming and a Private sauna (rented) on the Baltic Sea? Yes please. I’ll never forget you Grinda
