The interior of the apartment is beautiful, spotlessly clean and thoughtfully arranged. it was quiet and peaceful. The bus stop is very close and we were able to access Vaxholm harbour and central Stockholm easily.

A unique experience of staying in a castle in a tiny island in the Stockholm archipelago. The quiet grounds make for an interesting and calm stay, esp. after the last boat has left. Rooms are quiet, comfortable and minimally furnished. Bathrooms are shared, which were clean and tidy. Breakfast is an open buffet with local food items. The staff were extremely helpful.
This Saltsjö-Boo hotel is 15 km from central Stockholm and is accessible by car, bus or boat. It offers a modern spa and Baltic Sea views. Free private parking and free Wi-Fi are included.

Loved the boutique feel, great style, comfortable, really sweet place and nicely breakfast, good bed
Located just a short drive from downtown Stockholm, this hotel enjoys a quiet setting on the island of Lidingö and is ideal for all kinds of get-togethers.
Vaxholm itself has shops, cafes and cycle hire. The nearby islands and the far end of Vaxholm are well worth the visit. There are several separate ferry companies serving the island and a bus so worth researching them on the Internet before hand.

Lots of nice cafes, relaxing location by the sea.
Lots of nice cafes, relaxing location by the sea. Enjoyed lunch at the Boulangerie. The kastellet is a great place to visit. The Fastning museum is only open on specific days so good to check out opening times in advance, if interested. However, boats from vaxholm to kastellet are not frequent and very expensive, so if staying at kastellet, it might be expensive to be coming into vaxholm for every meal.
Easy access to the free ferry from Vaxholm and the rest of the island. Good walking and cycling in the area and several forts to visit. Pizza restaurant nearby. There was only one other room occupied when we stayed so sharing the bathrooms was not a problem. Good showers. Attractive communal area. Excellent breakfast. Simple, comfortable, semi-communal living with privacy when you want it. Very easy booking and check in. One hour ferry ride from central Stockholm. An interesting and peaceful island.
The property is a cozy and old with candles burning in lanterns placed here and there. I really enjoyed the old carpets, beautiful decor and cozy atmosphere. The rooms have old wooden floors and large windows. The sauna was really cozy with a small window facing the seafront. This is the kind of property you really wanna stay in when going to a place like Vaxholm as it enhance the old archipelago village vibe you want but with an elegant and luxurious feel to it.
Unique location in green nature on a peninsula near Stockholm and its archipelago. Lots of hiking trails starting at the door. Very friendly and efficient hosts who will help you with your sightseeing queries and make your stay much more personalised and enjoyable than if you just went to an average hotel. Opportunity to meet other interesting travellers in shared premises which are well equipped and clean. Good breakfast.
The room was tastefully decorated, there was a well equipped kitchenette, the grounds of the villa we're picturesque and Sanna was a welcoming and friendly host. I would highly recommend staying here if you're spending the night on Vaxholm (which is a lovely, quiet escape from Stockholm). Breakfast was good, room was quaint and cute - i didnt realise the bathroom was shared but it was fine (like a hostel really). The bathrooms were clean and a good size. Location was fun; a great story to tell people. Its funny that the hotel guests are the only people left on the island overnight. It was like an adventure exploring the fort in the evening.
The hotel setting/location was beautiful. The access to the roof offered 360 degrees of amazing views. The rooms were clean and comfortable. Breakfast was very good. When we arrived and at check out, there were no staff on hand but all the information necessary was provided for us, including the key to our room, in an envelop. The process was easy.
How often do you get to stay in a Castle?
My son absolutely loved the idea of sleeping in a castle that's only reachable via a water taxi. Heaps of interesting weaponry to get hands-on with
simple but delicious breakfast
Vaxholm is a lovely town and a mecca if you want to hire a boat /fish. The ferry from Stockholm was surprisingly cheap
This place is located on another island than Vaxholm but the car ferry runs often and is free so it is very easy to go back and forth to Vaxholm, even very late. Location itself is nice with a terrace with a very nice view. Rooms were good, in line with what we expected. Breakfast that was offered was good.
A really unique location - our son loved the novelty of staying in a castle on an island! Large rooms, though ours didn’t have a view from the window.
We liked the breakfast, with freshly baked bread & lots of choice. Good value for a hotel in Sweden
Apartment is a part of a big beautiful villa in a lush garden area, very helpful and friendly hosts, peaceful, clean, close to the lovely Vaxholm town as well as boat and bus connections, comfortable beds, we had a very good stay!

The staff and the people of Vaxholm are amazing, gentle, friendly people. A special mention about Eric at the hotel restaurant. He took extra effort to accommodate our vegan diet. This hotel can never let you down.
This red house is definitely the best accommodation in vaxholm, the host is very friendly and met all our requests, I love this house and everything here so much, I will definitely come back again.🤗🤗🤗
