One night stay is too short.

One night stay is too short. Love the area's history, access to river boat rides, Laos market and casino. Can do many activities or just lounge/dine at the riverfront hotels and restaurants. I prefer the Opium Hall vs. the museum, the 'skinny, fast boat' river ride with 45 minute stop at the Laos market is fun at bargain price of 500 baht from the quiet & professional vendor on left side at the immigration area. Avoid the loud vendor on the right. Easy drive northwest to VIEW the bridge crossing into Myanmar and visit the Mae Sai/Tachileik market. Do NOT cross the border unless you have a Myanmar visa are going to visit there for several nights as it will likely invalidate any Thai visa you may have. Parking can be a 'challenge' in the area near the crossing.

    It’s 3 countries.

It’s 3 countries. Thailand - if you’re here, you’ve experienced a much better area of Thailand already. One country you can’t visit, (Myanmar). Laos, which was just a crappy market and half empty designer outlets, (all fake). Laos made no effort at all to captivate the visitor. They couldn’t care less. We went there to say we’d been there. There’s nothing captivating that I can think of. Save your time and effort. Come by coach. Get off, say ‘ooh’, take a picture, then get back on the coach and enjoy your holiday!
