I have traveled all over Ukraine, but this is the most historically "dense" place I have visited. Absolutely everywhere there are historic buildings and other places labeled clearly with a plaque and also an additional sign in Ukrainian and English featuring a QR code to more information about the site. I only came here for a couple days, assuming that would be enough to see everything, but I now plan on returning sometime when I can take a complete history excursion with a tour guide who can really tell the story of Nizhyn. There are not many interesting shops and only a couple cool cafes and restaurants and relatively few activities to do, but if you like history, then Nizhyn is a perfect place for you to visit. Suggested Places: Park Hotel, Gogol Point for coffee, Solo restaurant for meals, the Cucumber Monument for the most distinctive landmark, the many museums and historical buildings.
