“My husband and I spent two nights during late-November in one of the hillside villas (rinnehuvilat). Despite the fact that these villas are located a few meters away from the lake, the view from the window-wall of the living area and the view from the bedroom that is overlooking the lake was amazing! Guests usually come by car or by bus in groups but even without a car, it is possible to reach Anttolan hovi by taxi (25km ride from the city of Mikkeli). The other facilities (restaurant for breakfast-lunch-dinner, swimming pool, wellness center for various treatments) were located in the main hotel building which is less than 5 min walk from the villa which we stayed. Each of the villas is beautifully blending in and respecting the surrounding environment. The loft-like interior and lightings are beautifully designed and well maintained. Natural materials were used wherever possible. All spaces, linen and towels were super clean, the beds comfortable and in top condition. The house offers all necessary amenities incl Wifi and features a fire place, own terrace, and a private sauna with a door allowing natural light and leading straight to the terrace overlooking the lake. A map with walking and biking routes is provided (bikes are available with no extra charge in the summer time). Walking in the forest was a nice alternative to the walks by the lake. With one bedroom overlooking the lake and the other the forest (and road), one has the nature surrounding them. The dinner at the restaurant was delicious and the treatments we tried out (salt-room and massage) added to the relaxing atmosphere of our stay. On one evening we attended one of the regular events hosted by Anttolan Hovi in the sports hall: Dances with live music and lots of couple-dancing (Finnish tango, etc). It was a nice and fun experience! Last but not least all the personnel was friendly and service-oriented. All in all we had a an amazing, peaceful and relaxing stay and we warmly recommend the villas!”
