There is also a market for fruit and vegetables (and fish, if you get up early). 3km away, on the main road, you'll find supermarkets and, on the beach, you can buy fresh fish directly from the fishermen.”

After a few days in manic, noisy Seminyak we were feeling disillusioned and disappointed with how tourism had overrun the island. Jamie and her team saved our trip and made the few days there a Dream! It’s clear they have worked hard to build and maintain an impeccable property with no detail left neglected. I almost hate to let the secret out about this place. :) We booked “the big house” (there are two villas on this property) for our family group of 5. But our stay began weeks before arriving - Jamie reached out and was incredibly responsive and helpful arranging our visit. There was no detail she couldn’t help us with! The property driver, Gede, picked us up in Seminyak and gave us a tour of central Bali - took us to a wonderful lunch spot with view over the volcanos, and even rushed to find us a vantage spot as we drove around the volcano and realized the sunset was dazzling! We were welcomed warmly by Tina the manager (who is a gem) with a fantastic dinner. Jaime FaceTime called to greet and welcome us at the beginning (and to say goodbye at the end). Breakfast was included, but for a reasonable fee you can arrange for lunch and/or dinners which you have a say in what you’d like to eat. The cook is awesome and we had the best Balinese food of our visit there! Gede and Tina were wonderful about advising our daytrips to meet what we were interested in. We visited during a lunar festival and they even helped us dress in the appropriate attire so Gede could take us to the village temple and watch the celebrations. There’s tons I’m leaving out but suffice to say- Everything had a personal touch and care - I’d be remiss to not give everyone a shout out for even helping me get a birthday cake to surprise my husband on his birthday. Tina went above and beyond. Everything about the grounds were impeccable- from the house to the pool, and you can walk right onto the beach.”
