“I absolutely loved just about EVERYTHING. It has that touch of homely antiquity to it, something one can only get from places rich in tradition and history. Uematsuya Ryokan was a great combination of both classic and modern comfort. I can't pinpoint just one aspect, as it definitely was the highlight of my Japan holiday. The onsen pools were glorious, and the bedrooms didn't feel like you were in a hotel at all. It felt like a really nice home. The whole area seemed ages old but that added to the charm. It didn't take me much effort to get around at all, since their staff can speak and understand English, and a lot of their written articles are in English as well. The food was EXQUISITE. Tradition at its finest. It's a shame I only got to taste their breakfast, as I'm sure their dinner and lunch offered are no less exceptional. Please visit them, and savor the classical antiquity of the area. It gives you a glimpse of their rich culture and it's a much needed break from your everyday city life! Bonus: I am a huge, huge fan of the Sanada clan. Their reverence to the once ruling clan intensified my already brimming excitement and experience by over a hundred.”
