“We have just returned from a 4 night stay at Idube Private Game Reserve. What an outstanding & unforgettable experience we had! From the moment we arrived to our final second, we were treated like valued friends. The accommodation is beautiful, spacious & very relaxing. My husband loved the option of an outdoor shower. To be able to sit on our decking & see elephants wander by is rather special. The food served was delicious- both varied, plentiful & beautifully presented. A special mention is needed for the fabulous breads, which we loved. We particularly enjoyed the evening meals which were in the Boma area with an open fire when the weather allowed. Most meals were a buffet style which we prefer. The staff involved with the food were delightful & nothing was too much trouble Our main reason for the visit was to see the animals. We didn't quite know what to expect & would never have believed the experiences we were about encounter. Mike was our guide/ranger for the 4 days with Nhlayo as our tracker. What a great combination! From Day 1 every effort was made to help us to experience the animals at close quarters without causing them any distress. Mike was very knowledgable, friendly & helpful. He couldn't have done any more to improve our experience. His passion for his work shines through and he gave so much of his time to us. We loved his anecdotes & these added to the overall experience. His manner was always calm & this instills confidence, which we needed when taken so close to these stunning wild animals. Mike's bush walk was another revelation. Being out on foot in an area where wild animals roam is unforgettable, but thanks to our confidence in Mike, we were able to enjoy every second. Watching Nhaylo successfully track leopards on our first game drive was amazing. His manner was always friendly & he was always smiling.”
