Featuring a lakeside swimming pool surrounded by the tropical jungle, Home Phutoey River Hotspring & Nature Resort is set along the River Kwai in Sai Yok, an hour drive from Kanchanaburi Town.
“Everything! I’m so happy we found this place on our travels! The location and surroundings are paradise and out of this world! The hot springs have made my life haha! Kayaking included on the lake is too fun. Loved it so much we booked another night! Really one of the best places I’ve ever stayed! For people moaning about ants, geezo it’s in the jungle haha not an issue!”

This unique, nature retreat overlooks the historic River Kwai and Hintok Mountain. Nestled in a Hellfire Pass clearing, Hintok River Camp offers accommodation in luxurious canvas tents with free WiFi....
“The location is awesome. Situated on a bluff high above the river, with jungle-clad mountains to the rear, the geography creates the ideal conditions for misty mornings and cool nighttime temperatures. There are no major roads nearby, so the only sounds throughout the day are the occasional longtail boat on the river and the waterfall created by the overflow of the natural stream-fed swimming pool on the riverbank. This is perfect for families, couples and adventurous travel groups. No TV in the tents = perfect.”

River Kwai Resotel is a villa-style resort nestled on the banks of the Kwai Noi River in Kanchanaburi. It features air-conditioned rooms with an outdoor pool and a restaurant.
“Great resort tucked away in the middle of nowhere. The Bungalow was very comfortable, private, wifi worked great, ac also. The pools were excellent and the food was good and fairly priced. Tip: plan to stay at least three nights to enjoy all the resort has to offer. Excursions do cost money. Some take the boat transfer to resort which is a great way to see a lot on the way. We drove and was boring long drive.”

Offering a sun terrace and water sports facilities, Sweet Home Floating House is set in Ban Lum Le. Guests can enjoy the on-site restaurant. Some units include views of the lake or garden.
“Everything. I fell in love with this beautiful raft house, the sunrise and sunset views, the family owning the place, the food... I have been traveling around Thailand for a year, and my week at Sweet Home has definitely been one of my best experiences. The breakfast (Thai or American) included in the room is nice and filling, the meals are cooked daily from fresh ingredients, the menu is reasonably priced and the fish is amazing. The rooms on the sides of the raft have beautiful sunrise or sunset views from the bed. The rooms in the Fisherman house get slightly more waves when the wind picks up but the movement remains very ok. Bathrooms are shared with max 2 other rooms. I definitely recommend staying several nights to enjoy the day on the raft. You can use for free their inflatables, kayaks and even ask for a bamboo raft tour on the lake. They took me to the nearby waterfall (4h trip in total) for 300B, it was really great. Note that all payments are cash and there is no ATM close by, so make sure to bring enough to cover for room, food and extras. There is no WiFi but AIS sim cards get a very good signal all day.”
