Renovated in 2016, the beautiful, chalet-like Active Life Madarao offers ski-to-door access from Madarao Kogen Ski Resort, a 3-minute walk away. It was large enough to be comfortable in and not feel crowded but small enough to be cozy. It felt like staying in a friend’s place rather than a hotel and we liked that. The location was ideal, a short walk to lift and among all the eating and drinking places. I had snowboard courses and that was great too.

Cost and casual place to stay for a ski/snowboard trip. Very friendly staff and the location for the hotel is very good. I was on the slopes after a 5 min walk.

Located in Iiyama, 26 km from Ryuoo Ski Park, Chalet Madarao provides accommodation with a shared lounge, free private parking, a restaurant and a bar. Hosts were very nice, and very helpful getting me set up for skiing on the hill. The location is pretty hard to beat as you are right on the hill. Breakfast was ideal before skiing. All in all it was a great stay.

Boasting spacious hot spring baths, Hotel Silk Inn Madarao is about 100m to Madarao Kogen ski slope entrace. It features a karaoke lounge bar, ski equipment rentals and ski drying room. Absolutely loved this place, room was an excellent size loads of room best size I've ever had in Japan. The outdoor onsen was breathtaking when it snowed and every thing you needed was right there. Only thing was its a bit of a trek up to the main area restaurants etc but the hotel staff dropped us up at a restaurant for dinner we just stroled back down after and got very drunk in the karaoke room lol
