Breakfast was also very simple but tasty (for Taiwanese). The rooms are functional and have mountain/valley views. Overall, Lushan is a very interesting area. Once upon a time, it was obviously a vibrant hot spring resort town but now it sits empty. Typhoons and landslides have led the government to condemn most of the buildings. The closed hotels are filled with rocks silt. Shops are trying their hardest to keep going. It's hard to imagine a recovery for this area, despite the immutable soothing natural hot springs. What a fascinating tale. Definitely worth a visit, but not on a rainy day.

The homestay features family rooms.... This place is outstanding from the views to the attentiveness of the staff. The size of the rooms are excellent and have all the facilities you need. Breakfast was buffet style and for us was ideal. After a long day hiking to come and sit in the garden with the view across the mountains was awesome.
