I received the code to the open the lock box a day before we were due to stay. The property was immaculate and obviously very well cleaned. Plenty of choice for continental breakfast with a big choice of cereals available, together with fruit and yoghurt. Fresh bread was supplied for toasting, with honey, jams and Vegemite spreads

I loved the ambience, true to it's name- it looked just like a Colonial Club would have in the old days. The rooms are beautifully placed, surrounded by tropical gardens. The design of the resort revolves around the pool, bar cum grill restaurant. It is family friendly and child friendly as well. It is a short drive from the CBD, but not within walking distance. Very close to the Cairns Botanical Gardens.

I like the swimming areas, cater for all ages - children and adults. Right by the restaurant, there are two slides and a wooden platform for kids and teenagers to have fun going into the water. A big screen showing animated films in the evening. I find it a great place for family.

We stayed one night in a superior room. The room was fabulous. Large, clean and recently refurbished. There are no lifts so we did have to carry our luggage, prams and children up the stairs. Didn’t impact our stay overall though. Very kid friendly resort and was busy at the pools but didn’t bother us with younger kids! The food was a bit pricey but was convenient as the resort is not close to any other food outlets. Overall a good stay for a family looking for a resort which caters to the kids interests :)
