For a day trip to Bologna we just drove the 30 min, parked our car close to the train station of Bologna right outside the ZTL zone and walked through the oldtown. The location was a 10 minute walk from the bus station and downtown Cento, yet located in a quiet neighborhood bordering on farmland. There were 3 groceries and a cafe around the corner. I liked having a full kitchen. The hostess Angela could not have been more welcoming and helpful. She speaks some English, and checked frequently to see if I needed anything.
