Farm Stays in Schignano

Agriturismo Al Marnich is a working farm set in Schignano in the hilly countryside, 8 kilometres from Lake Como. You can sample home-grown organic food in the characteristic restaurant.

We had a good selection to start the day with different types of coffee, plates of salami, cheeses and homemade cookies, which were to die for ;-) We ate every night at the Agriturismo, as it was freshly cooked, and the menu varied every day. The views of Lake Como were incredible. Sitting well above the road, the only real man-made sounds were the distant boats and faint church bells from across the lake. We loved the stillness, especially at night. It was great to meet the actual owner, and his daughter was most helpful communicating with us leading up to, and during, our stay. It was just a short drive to Bellagio and ever shorter to other ferry locations. Watching the two donkeys wander the property was pretty cool too.

Daniele and Leila were wonderful hosts and their cooking authentic for the region and delicious. A real gem. The single lane road up is also a real adventure - as the hosts noted 'don't come with a Ferrari or Porsche'

The Madonna Dei Ceppi farmhouse is not directly accessible by car, it is located a 15/25 minute walk from the center of the village.

From there you will have to walk towards the farmhouse (about 15/25 minutes).
