Ayabe
Featuring a hot tub, 一汁一菜の宿 ちゃぶダイニング Ichiju Issai no Yado Chabu Dining Unforgettable Farmstay experience in Deep Kyoto is set in Ayabe. This property offers access to a terrace, free private parking and free WiFi. The property is non-smoking and is located 19 km from Choanji Temple. The stay in the farm was really fantastic! I recommend to spend 3 or 4 nights there, to enjoy the calm of the area and to try farming and cooking rice and miso soup . The hosts are very thoughtful and I enjoyed speaking with them about Japan and others things. We have also done the « Okudosan » activity, which I recommend. The women during the activity were very nice and we had a lot of fun.
Ayabe
Nestled in a small village in the Kambayashi area surrounded by mountains and a clear river, Satoyama Guest House Couture offers accommodation in Ayabe, the northern part of Kyoto Prefecture. Free private parking and WiFi is featured on site. The owners are very helpful. They recommended me many local tourist spots. They can also help to coordinate with local communities for different kinds of workshops. Really enjoy staying here
Fukuchiyama
Situated in the peaceful countryside with lush greenery and wildflowers, 古民家の宿 ふるま家 Furumaya House Gastronomic Farmstay in Deep Kyoto provides charming Japanese-style guest rooms in a renovated thatched-roof farm house, which is more than 210 years old. This non-smoking property provides free Wi-Fi and free parking. JR Ayabe Station is a 15-minute bus ride away from the property. For those staying for multiple nights, free pick-up service from the station is also available upon request. We had a short but sweet stay at Furumaya House, the Japanese home cooking by Sayaka-san is absolutely delicious, the hamburger steak is to die for. The rice is home grown and the other ingredients are locally sourced. We also really enjoyed the home made umeju, must try if you visit! If you are looking for a homey/cozy place to stay with great home cooking look no where else. Would definitely come and stay again to experience the area in depth next time!

Our Bath View room was spacious, clean and comfortable and we loved the view out on to the green wall. The location is excellent with easy access to buses and subway, short walking distance to Gion and main shopping area and with numerous good restaurants very close by. Our favourite was a small ‘farm to table’ restaurant on the first or second small street opposite the hotel, run by an enthusiastic group of young people.
The cabin was spacious (for 2 persons) and clean. The place does not have towels and we didn’t bring any, but the host quickly got us some before the farm shop closed at 18:00pm. So kind! Also, there’s a restaurant that offers a buffet style diner. All the food served is local and very very delicious.
A lovely small family run property with a rustic Japanese feel. The breakfasts are amazing and waking up to freshly baked Japanese bread, baked on sight, is just fantastic. I highly recommend to stay here, we had 11 nights and were made to feel so welcome.
It's easy to tell they have experiences to accommodate families, by various thoughtful equipment. They are willing to deal with problems quickly. We just asked them about the rubbish clearing, the staff came immediately; when we report the unfounded water fountain, they arranged repairing right away. The location is great, not too noisy but it's only two-subway- station to approach to the hot spots, and the station is only 3-min walk. Moreover, there's a convenient store, a supermarket and a farmacy nearby for kinds of needs.
The room was really nice and quiet, the bed super confortable, the kitchen was nice and we really enjoy the service! Very good coffee and tea self service, sea salt bath at disposal.. really good service and staff really Nice! I think we will probably look for this hôtel branch again when we will go to Tokyo or Osaka.
Very, very efficient staff, cultured and professional. The hotel is very comfortable, with two branches in Kyoto, all amenities that travellers need. Super clean, comfortable beds. We loved Prezio's breakfast, full of nutrition. Good value for money. Highly recommended. If ever again in Japan, we shall be back.
The couple that greeted us and provided us with traditional Japanese attire, were amazing. Breakfast was included and was very filling. Dinner was also 10/10. The area proves a perfect representation of what rural Kyoto has to offer and more. Exploring is easy with the free bicycles provided.
The room has a rustic feel and is great for backpacking travelers. There is a great view of the Yasada Pagoda from both the room we had and the roof on the 3rd floor. If you wish to visit Kiyomizu-dera Temple in the wee hours of the morning and avoid the crowd, I recommend staying at this hotel as it is a 5-10 minutes walk away from the temple itself, which opens at 6:00 AM.
Art concept is cool, this branch is a bit more comfortable than Tokyo. Cool room, clean, good location.
The hotel and room are very clean, well-maintained, and very spacious for Japan. the staff were very friendly and welcoming, and spoke excellent English. Don’t be put off by the location being in a very residential with a small farm nearby, it was very assessable to central Kyoto and the tourist sights towards the East. Train to Kyoto central was frequent and only took about 10mins. There’s also an awesome izakaya nearby that served delicious food! In summary, highly recommend and would stay here again if we are ever in Kyoto.
