The location was a little more out of the way than I was used to but still not far from where I needed to be and the farm location was quaint and quiet.

Having met up with the Labradoodle and their owner (one of the hosts) after dinner out we were even happier with our choice.

A good location for a relaxing holiday in Port Waikato, Te Karaka Lodge is a farm stay surrounded by views of the mountain. The property features a private beach area, outdoor swimming pool and private parking among other facilities. This 5-star farm stay offers full-day security and luggage storage space. Free WiFi is available throughout the property, as well as a terrace and a restaurant. The property also offers accommodation for disabled guests. Everything is perfect about this place. The road from Auckland to the property was a bit rocky but totally worth the trouble. It is such a quiet relaxing hideaway and this is what I have always envisioned of NZ. Aaron and Danielle are wonderful hosts and make you feel welcomed and at ease the whole time. The dinner prepared by Chef Dom is also superb. Have to come back again for a longer stay!

And there are fantail birds filling the pine trees by the room pods, and fully grown (and still alive) kauri trees on the farm; it’s very special here.

Great hosts, very helpful (I had problem with my car and I got all help which I needed urgently), very clean place. Spa ready to use anytime, kitchen free to use anytime, good talks with owners, very chill place:)
