This was an incredible location and beautifully presented cabin. Cabin was cozy, well.equipped, quiet and felt private. Lovely sitting on the balcony listening to the wind in the trees and birdsong. All very clean and the bed was very comfy, with memory foam bed and pillows. There are amazing hikes that you can do from the front door, such as PR3 and another trail up into the mountains. We enjoyed these more than other hikes in the area as they were so quiet- we only saw a handful of other people on them.

We loved our Eco Shelter stay! It felt like a real escape. Lovely location, beautiful park and surroundings. The hut was perfect. Spotlessly clean and well equipped. We received a lovely welcome from Dioclecio, who was really friendly and great at communicating. If we visit Madeira again, we will definitely stay here :) Highly recommend. Thank you!

We had the most wonderful stay at the Mountain Eco Shelter. The location is beautiful - the lodges are in a beautiful Ecological Park full of plants and flowers. You can do hikes directly from the lodges. The lodges themselves have everything you need - a great kitchen, a comfortable bed and a balcony with a stunning view. The staff here are really friendly and helpful. There’s even a snackbar down the road where you can grab dinner & drinks. We loved every minute of our stay here and we are already planning to come back again.

Lovely cabin surrounded by mountain views, we saw so many stars at night. There's a great place to eat and drink (O Barracão), just 10 mins walk from the cabin, and it's only 20 minutes drive from Funchal (we had a rental car, but I believe there's a bus stop nearby too). It felt like a little home away from home, bed was very comfortable, shower was excellent and the little kitchenette had a stove top, microwave, kettle, coffee machine and fridge. Our host was wonderful, very welcoming and gave us lots of recommendations. I would definitely stay here again!

The shelter was exactly as shown in the pictures. Very comfortable! The location is great, there is a very good and low price restaurant that you can reach through a short walk. Dioclécio was very kind and gave us a few pieces of advice on what to do in the area. The position is strategic for PR1 and other trek routes. It has been an amazing stay, and we're looking forward to coming back. This place is pure beauty!

Location amongst the trees, great hikes nearby (including the famous Pico to Pico, which starts a short drive away) and a sunset hike on the doorstep, peaceful, friendly meet & greet from host and quick responses to messages, but not hassled. Bedding, towels and shower etc of good quality. Comfortable bed. Heater warmed the cabin up nicely when required.
