Peacefully located by Lake Siljan, this Rättvik property features a private beach and waterfront terrace with panoramic lake views in a non alcoholic environment. It offers a daily breakfast buffet, along with free sauna and gym access. Fantastic location directly at the lake with its own beach (and additional beach towels were available). Very friendly and helpful staff, nice clean room and good breakfast. I had the cheapest room category with shared shower, which was not a problem - it was clean and I never had to wait. I stayed after the Swedish holiday season, so maybe fewer guests, and no youth groups in the nearby camp huts. There are some shared spaces throughout the house for people to read or chat, which I found nicer than the usual hotel lobby. The hotel is 20 minutes walk from the train station and town center, or you can use one of their free bikes. They have canoes, and at the nearby campsite (10 minutes walk) there is a "kayakomat" for rental of kayaks and SUP boards (for a fee). There was lunch at the hotel, but no dinner. They provide a map of the town with restaurant tips, and there are at least two supermarkets in the town as well. Tea/coffee was available. No 24 hours reception, but I received an e-mail with a door code and description, so could also have checked in outside of reception hours. Really loved the place and would definitively stay there again.
