In general, this is a solid hostel for the price, which is close to many of the markets and interesting parks in Ambato. Other reviews have noted that the street the hostel is on is not safe. Since we stayed there only one night between buses, it was exactly what we needed. The neighbourhood is full of fast food places too if you're looking for something cheap and easy to eat.

Friendly, welcoming staff. Room was clean, comfortable bed, many blankets. Best was the breakfast and the woman serving it.

Area felt very safe. Really well located next to the two best parks (with amazing topiary) we saw in all of Ambato. The atmosphere on Sundays is particularly great. Just a 20 minute walk into central Ambato. Hosts are charming too. We would not consider staying anywhere else in Ambato.
