I contacted the owner, Tom as I had stupidly left my phone charger in the room and he very kindly and very quickly posted it back to me. I offered to reimburse all costs incurred but he has not asked me to do so. This to me speaks volumes of Tom, especially after several friends have told me how very unusual this is, as they have left often more valuable items in hotel rooms and never had them returned.
