We booked, hoping to experience Italy first hand. Located 20 minutes walk downhill from the station right on a piazza Caffe Nazionale exceeded our expectations. A short flat 5 minute walk got us to the ferry terminal for cruises to the Boromean islands and Santa Caterina. Of course, there were numerous food and gelato options right at the door. A Carrefours supermarket was "just up the street". Annalise from the caffe was very helpful and spoke and understood English very fluently. She made our stay more enjoyable. We enjoyed our lunch at the Caffe Nazionale and crepes from the Creperia just opposite. Should we return to Stresa, we would definitely book accommodation at Caffe Nazionale. THANK YOU!!!
