Surrounded by nature and offering an on-site restaurant and bar, Hotel Casa Perico is located in Amatillo. Free WiFi access is available. Guests can borrow a kayak to explore the swamps at no extra cost. A shuttle service is offered to and from the village of Fronteras. This place is amazing! Excellent staff, great food, free boat rides anytime you want, just book it!! This is the place for Rio Dulce. Thanks to the staff for an excellent stay :)

Hostal Blood Moon is situated in Rio Dulce and has a plunge pool and pool views. This guest house features free private parking, a 24-hour front desk and free WiFi. The accommodation provides a shared kitchen, full-day security and organising tours for guests. It was in walking distance of the ferry but off the road so you didn't hear the traffic. The host was lovely and we very much enjoyed the breakfast in the morning.

Julio’s cabana was newly built and very spacious. He just finished the new porch overhang the day before my arrival! I really liked the rustic feel of the home, and how private it was. I was the only one on the property during my stay. I stayed in the private room, but took a look upstairs at the loft. There are multiple beds in an open floor layout, with mosquito netting to ensure a comfortable sleep. There are kayaks available for a small extra fee, making getting around on the river very easy - especially if you have friends nearby, would like to visit the thermal waters, or grab dinner at Restaurante Viajero. Julio also has a well stocked kitchen if you will be doing your own cooking, as well as an EcoFilter water purifier. Loved my stay! Thank you Julio and your family for making me feel welcome.

Within five minutes of placing a call we were whisked off to this charming riverside location. Our pleasant host, welcomed us and showed us to our well appointed room. Special thanks to Angie who was really helpful. The breakfast was first class as was the service. I just wish we had the time to stay longer.

There is a free boat shuttle provided by the hotel for pick up and drop off in Rio dulce to a specific schedule, cheap kayak rental, quiet atmosphere and friendly (and mostly competent) staff. They can also easily arrange you a highly recommended boat trip to Livingston.

The hostel is in a gorgeous peaceful setting next to the river with hammocks at the dock. Meals had large portions and were reasonably priced. Large pour of wine for slightly over $3. Owner was very nice and informative. Place was unbelievably cheap.

Very friendly staff, the hostess speaks fluent English, it’s a great relief if you are not too fluent speaking Spanish. The instructions on how to get to the hotel are thorough, just take a time to read the guidelines. Restaurant serves all meals from breakfast to dinner, all was delicious what we had. Place is quiet and excellent if you’re looking for a relaxing stay.

Great Hostel, quiet and clean. I spent 3 nights and the personnel was very helpfull to help me organizing my next trip to Nicaragua. They offered me to stay in a better room for my last night. I definitely recommend it. You Can go there without hesitation, it's nice and friendly !!
