You can drive to Johana Translation and take a long walk or taxi but a car is probably a must. Ignoring that, this accommodation was amazing. It's an old style Japanese Guesthouse renovated to be extremely comfortable even for people that don't like older houses. It is almost completely renovated and the host really took a lot of effort to decorate the rooms. There is a great kitchen and living room options available. The dorm beds on the third floor are big compared to other hostels but the stairs a little steep and narrow. The first floor is offers bigger rooms for people and an area for children to play (as of October 2023). Outside the house is space for at leat 5-6 cars for parking. By foot you can go to a park, an incredible child playground and a lake. There are probably only one or two options for outside dining by foot, but with car shops, laundry, restaurants are available within 10 minutes.

Everything was as perfect as it seemed online when I first found the guesthouse and even exceeded my expectations. Kota and Kana are the most welcoming and thoughtful hosts. They both provided me with all the information I needed about the region and gave me some (great!) advice on the things I should see or do. They even had an electric bike I could rent for a very small fee for the whole day. The location of the house requires a 15min walk from the nearest bus stop (although totally feasible), but the host offered to pick me up directly there. The room was perfectly clean, and the futon mattress very comfortable. If you leave the windows open, you have a wonderful view of the mountains and can hear the very relaxing sounds of nature around. It was one of the best guesthouses I have been to and would definitely recommend it to anyone.

Located in the historical world heritage site of Ainokura village, Minshuku Yomoshirou offers Japanese-style accommodations in a traditional Gassho-style house with thatched roofs. Free WiFi internet is available property-wide. The minshuku is a 10-minute drive from Taira Ski Resort. The farm house experience was simply great! The hosts (husband and wife) were the most friendly and welcoming ever and they made everyone feel comfortable. The bed (futon) was comfortable and everything was very clean. The food was delicious and felt fresh (I mean, I saw the husband grilling our fresh fish, so I know it's fresh). Absolutely recommended!
